About Business Line
The SSIM India IT (Investment Technology and Business Service – Multi Asset Trading and Regulatory Technology) BA group manages critical technology and business analysis functions for Trading, Connectivity & Investment Oversight, and Regulatory Reporting. The group works closely with internal teams and external vendors across global locations to deliver high-quality solutions supporting trading operations, compliance, and investment oversight.
Role Description
The Trading Tech BA will be part of the Business Analyst team at SSIM, primarily focusing on Project and BAU work in Investment Oversight (IO) while also assisting Trading and Regulatory Reporting. This role combines business analysis and technical expertise to support trading systems, compliance processes, and infrastructure management. The individual will coordinate project execution across internal teams and external vendors globally and own planning, communication, and status reporting for stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities & Experience Range
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, ensuring attention to detail and adherence to compliance and operational standards.
- Serve as a second line of defense: Independently review proposed solutions and implementation steps to ensure accuracy, completeness, and high quality of deliverables before production deployment.
- Support production environments: Manage sub-production environments, coordinate deployments, and provide technical/business support for production issues, including audit and compliance activities.
- Act as a point of contact for technical and business project requests, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between functional teams for service requests requiring cross-functional coordination.
- Identify and lead process improvement projects out of Bangalore.
- Present oral and written reports defining plans, problems, and resolutions to management; participate in service level reviews.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of the trading life cycle to manage tasks, activities, and projects in scope; coordinate with infrastructure teams for development, deployment, and support.
- Work with global project stakeholders, program managers, and distributed project teams to ensure project success.
- Support overall strategy for audit and reviews, risk management, and local coordination of business continuity and disaster recovery exercises.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Gathering business requirements via interaction with end users and other teams.
- Analyzing requirements and breaking them down into actionable functional specifications to be used by Development teams.
- Converting business requirements into test cases.
- Coordination across technical teams and oversee the development process.
- Conducting IT testing and user testing activities.
- Project planning and communication to the stakeholders.
- Bug fix verification and validation.
- Working closely with QA team to ensure their test cases / regression suite are updated.
- Managing ION infrastructure across new tranches/patches.
- Working on Code Deployment and weekend support for Production moves and system validation.
Expertise
- Functional knowledge of Order Management System (OMS), Fidessa Latent Zero products, trading system experience across Trading, Connectivity and Investment Compliance.
- Execution of complex software development projects involving external product vendor teams and diverse technical teams.
- Knowledge in following Tech areas:
- SQL knowledge.
- UNIX
- FIX
Skills & Knowledge
Qualification & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Finance, or related field.
10+ years of experience in business analysis, project management, or IT within financial services or asset management.
Primary Skills (Must Have)
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven experience in trading operations, regulatory reporting, and investment oversight.
- Good understanding of Investment Oversight and Pre Trade compliance rules.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience managing deployments, audits, and sub-production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives.
- Ability to run SQL queries and UNIX Commands
Secondary Skills (Good to Have)
- Experience with global teams and vendor management.
- Familiarity with trading life cycle, infrastructure coordination, and compliance standards.
- Exposure to risk management, audit strategy, and business continuity planning.
