Role Summary:
APM Terminals is looking for a Senior TOS L3 Engineer to strengthen our global support capability for mission-critical Navis N4 and XPS platforms.
This role combines advanced technical expertise with a proactive focus on standardization, documentation, and knowledge transfer, driving excellence across all terminals and L3 engineers worldwide.
You will be responsible for handling the most complex technical issues, developing and documenting horizontal solutions applicable to multiple terminals, and contributing to the continuous improvement and modernization of our global TOS landscape.
The position also plays a key role in creating guides, conducting training, and promoting best practices across the support community.
Key Responsibilities:
· Provide expert-level L3 support for Navis N4 and XPS, ensuring system reliability, availability, and performance.
· Investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex incidents and problems across applications, integrations, databases, and infrastructure.
· Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes, ensuring lessons learned are shared across the organization.
· Design, document, and standardize horizontal solutions impacting multiple terminals — ensuring consistency and efficiency across global operations.
· Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles, contributing to the standardization of TOS support.
· Develop training materials, playbooks, and technical guides, and deliver sessions to upskill the global L2/L3 teams.
· Lead by example in promoting best practices, process discipline, and operational excellence.
· Support system upgrades, migrations, and DR/HA testing, coordinating with terminals, vendors, and global teams.
· Collaborate with Engineering, Infrastructure, and Cybersecurity teams to enhance observability, automation, and resilience.
· Participate in implementation and improvement projects, contributing both technical depth and cross-team perspective.
What We’re Looking For:
Must-Have (Required Qualifications):
· Proven hands-on experience with Navis N4 and/or XPS (functional and technical).
· Advanced troubleshooting skills in application, database, and integration layers.
· Solid knowledge of infrastructure, networking, and database administration
· Experience in scripting or development.
· Strong understanding of Linux system administration.
· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to make clear presentations and technical explanations.
· Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a distributed global team.
· Experience with ITSM/ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request).
Nice-to-Have (Preferred Qualifications):
· Experience with monitoring and observability tools.
· Exposure to cybersecurity frameworks and compliance controls.
· Background in terminal operations or TOS implementation projects.
· Strong interest in automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
