Opportunity for an experienced Test Lead to be responsible for driving testing outcomes within a core functional team for a payments program of work. You will be part of a technology driven program that will support RBA’s strategic payments platform.

As part of this role, you will be contributing to the successful delivery of the program by ensuring robust quality assurance across both functional and non-functional areas. You will be actively involved in all testing activities, including test planning, execution, automation, and continuous improvement of test processes and tools. The role also requires close collaboration within Agile teams, supporting integration and user acceptance testing phases, and leveraging your expertise in automation frameworks, API testing, and CI/CD pipelines to drive quality outcomes.

Your background

Test Lead with hands-on experience of managing Testing and QA processes across payments projects with experience across all phases of testing in an Agile environment and previous working experience in a large-scale IT project, preferably in a bank.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating Agile Test strategies, reviewing Test Plans and Test Summary Reports, provide Test Estimation for upcoming releases and focussed on adoption of test automation frameworks for the RBA projects.

To be successful in this critical role you will:

  • Knowledge and Application: Manage, support and execute functional testing (manual or automated) or non-functional testing (performance, failover and accessibility testing etc.) in multiple business domains and/or complex projects.

  • Testing Lifecycle: Manage and be responsible for the software development life cycle and testing life cycle, demonstrate specialist experience and expert understanding and be responsible or oversee / support the production of corresponding deliverables as outputs (e.g., test strategy, comprehensive test cases for a significant component of a solution, test scenarios).

  • Delivery Methodologies: Demonstrated testing experience within more than one project methodology such as waterfall, Prince2 and agile-type methodologies.

  • Analysis and Planning: Expert knowledge and experience of test analysis techniques and strategies, estimation, design of test plans and test cases in more than one business domain and/or complex projects.

  • Analysis and Planning: Demonstrate high proficiency in analysis of complex and integrated business domains within projects and selection of test strategy aimed at minimising risk while achieving high levels of quality, in the most pragmatic manner.

  • Analysis and Planning: For team of testers, establish and execute a plan that utilises resources efficiently, reflects the priorities and achieve the objectives. Lead, guide and support a team of testers.

  • Tools: Advance understanding of tools that can be used for testing (e.g. industry recognised testing tools, Excel, custom-built scripts).

  • Test Framework: For manual and automated functional and non-functional testing: Advance experience and ability to lead other testers in the improvement and/or creation of test frameworks.

  • Reporting and Communicating: Creates and presents well-structured test reports, and summaries as needed.

  • Reporting and Communicating: Tailors communication (e.g. content, style and medium) to various stakeholders with minimal supervision.

  • Demonstrated practical experience in BDD (Behavioural Driven Development) projects with experience in Gherkin language and good knowledge in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Delivery) concepts.

  • Web Based application testing and strong knowledge/understanding of API integration.

  • Experienced on Test strategies and Test Estimates

  • Experienced on Test estimations with high level requirements.

  • Strong experience with REST API, Selenium, Java.
