Who We Are Looking For: 

This temporary 3–6-month assignment involves developing and executing public relations campaigns to support Cambia's business objectives across the enterprise. The role includes managing media relationships, serving as a subject matter expert on the media landscape, and providing strategic communications support and mentoring to team members.

 

What You Bring to Cambia: 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Strategic Communications Manager would have a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field and 8+ years (12+ years for Sr. position) of experience in communications or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Skills and Attributes: 

  • Strong writing and editing skills with ability to translate complex, technical information for diverse audiences and meet tight deadlines

  • Strategic and creative thinking with proven project management skills to handle multiple simultaneous projects under pressure

  • Media relations expertise including established relationships with reporters/editors and track record of generating earned media coverage

  • Cross-functional leadership with confidence and diplomacy to guide departments and mentor less experienced communications staff

  • Technology and trends knowledge in emerging communication channels with ability to identify innovative solutions for audience engagement

  • Campaign development and execution experience in strategic media relations and public relations planning at local and regional levels

  • Analytics and measurement capabilities including knowledge of benchmarks for media engagement impact and ability to analyze and report on PR effectiveness

What You Will Do at Cambia:  

  • Strategic communications and media relations - Develop multichannel PR campaigns and build relationships with local, regional, national, and diverse media outlets

  • Content creation and spokesperson duties - Create compelling communications materials and serve as subject matter expert/primary media spokesperson for assigned areas

  • Brand awareness and thought leadership - Identify innovative opportunities through sponsorships, influencer partnerships, awards, and speaking engagements

  • Reactive media and crisis management - Handle media requests in rapid response mode, provide executive media training, and play key role in company crisis planning

  • Stakeholder engagement and measurement - Educate internal brand ambassadors, ensure consistent messaging across corporate functions, and develop tracking systems to measure campaign effectiveness

The expected hiring range for the Temporary StratCom role is $100k - $135k depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; and performance history. This is a TEMPORARY, NON- BENEFITED ROLE.
