Technology Strategy & Innovation Senior Manager Key Responsibilities

1. Lead AI Product Strategy and Ownership

• Serve as Product Owner for AI and digital innovation initiatives within an Agile framework.
• Define and evolve the vision, roadmap, and success metrics for Amgen’s AI product portfolio, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and scientific rigor.
• Drive rapid experimentation and iterative validation, enabling accelerated learning while minimizing exposure to technical or operational risks.
 

2. Bridge AI Strategy and Business Impact

• Act as a strategic integrator between technology, data science, and business functions to ensure AI investments deliver high-value outcomes.
• Translate business opportunities into actionable AI use cases with clear hypotheses, value targets, and risk mitigation plans.
• Partner with ATMOS, Business Technology Leaders, and external collaborators to operationalize and scale trusted AI systems.
 

3. Orchestrate the AI Innovation Lifecycle

• Oversee the end-to-end progression of AI initiatives — from concept incubation and proof-of-value to enterprise scaling.
• Champion AI governance and compliance-by-design, embedding data quality, model robustness, and ethical AI principles.
• Implement frameworks for continuous de-risking, addressing challenges such as data drift, bias, or integration complexity early in development.
 

4. Accelerate Value While De-Risking Delivery

• Establish repeatable patterns for scaling AI products through Amgen’s enterprise model, ensuring they are reliable, interpretable, and compliant.
• Introduce quantitative risk assessment tools and decision gates to evaluate readiness for scale.
• Balance speed and safety — driving innovation with accountability and resilience.
 

5. Generate Strategic Foresight and Technology Intelligence

• Maintain an understanding of the AI and emerging technology landscape, assessing opportunities and risks of adoption.
• Advise on technology selection and partnerships, focusing on solutions that improve strategic advantage while minimizing technical debt and exposure.
• Provide evidence-based insights to guide AI investment prioritization and platform evolution.
 

6. Enable Adoption and Change Management

• Design and lead change management strategies that promote adoption of AI tools across Amgen’s enterprise.
• Embed user feedback loops and education programs to ensure AI capabilities are trusted, intuitive, and impactful.
• Partner with Communications and Learning teams to cultivate a culture of AI fluency and responsible innovation.
 

7. Communicate with Transparency and Influence

• Deliver clear, data-driven reporting on initiative progress, value realization, and risk posture to leadership and governance bodies.
• Serve as a trusted thought partner, fostering transparency and cross-functional alignment across all AI innovation streams.
 

What we expect of you

Basic Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field. 

•3+ years of experience working at the intersection of AI/ML and business functions, with a track record of delivering measurable outcomes. 

•Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools, technologies, and platforms, as well as a solid understanding of data ecosystems. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Master’s or PhD) in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related discipline.  

    •Experience partnering with external technology providers to deliver AI solutions. 

    •Familiarity with regulatory requirements and data privacy considerations in biopharma. 

    •Track record of working on AI projects that align with organizational goals.

156,528.00 USD - 189,422.00 USD
