About the role
Play a key role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of microbiology services across St Vincent’s Hospital, SydPath collection centres, and major clients, maintaining a strong focus on patient-centred care.
Perform hands-on laboratory testing procedures with precision and efficiency to deliver accurate, reliable results that support critical clinical decision-making.
Oversee and maintain laboratory equipment and inventory to ensure seamless, safe, and compliant day-to-day operations.
Communicate urgent and critical results promptly to clinicians, facilitating timely clinical responses and optimal patient outcomes.
Adhere to rigorous quality assurance protocols and uphold patient confidentiality, fostering a professional, ethical, and high-performing laboratory environment.
About you
Holds relevant tertiary qualifications in a scientific or technical discipline, with a strong foundation for applying theoretical and practical knowledge in a pathology environment.
Possesses solid hands-on experience in microbiology, ensuring accuracy and reliability in diagnostic outcomes.
Demonstrates flexibility and dependability, readily adapting to varied shifts and roster requirements to support continuous and efficient laboratory operations.
Performs assigned tasks with precision and efficiency, proactively taking on additional responsibilities to maintain workflow and service quality.
Communicates effectively and collaborates seamlessly within multidisciplinary teams, contributing to a cohesive, high-performing, and results-driven laboratory environment.
