Application Architect

Broad expectations from this role are as follows:

Hands on Technical/architectural expertise in technologies – Java Spring, Spring Boot, Python (Fast API), Kafka message broker, SQL/No-SQL DBs (Postgres, DocumentDB), Angular, Web App, Web APIs, and Cloud patterns, IaC
Hands-on architectural expertise in Azure or AWS cloud provider and knowledge on at least one other cloud provider (Azure, AWS, Google, IBM). Both Azure and AWS is required. i.e. Multi-cloud mandatory
Hands-on experience in Terraform, Grafana, Helm charts. Mainly monitoring work in production (IaC)
Technical/architectural understanding of AI, Gen AI, Agentic AI and Prompt engineering. Solutioning involving Gen AI / Agentic AI approach
Design monolithic as well as microservices architecture and solutions for any existing and new product(s)
Provide technical guidance and leadership to innovation initiatives.
Work with product management to define functional and non-functional requirements (performance, security, high availability, scalability, disaster recovery etc.).
Work with stakeholders to define quality measures for the given business requirements.
Be a part of senior management team in Pune in supporting local initiatives

Experience:

13+ years of professional experience in software with at least 5+ years as a technical architect with similar roles / responsibilities.
Extensive knowledge of product development and software development methodologies

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities:

Accelerate the adoption of new technologies, prototype new initiatives, and develop proof of concepts utilizing the latest technologies.

Act as a champion of quality across the development teams through best practice sharing and reviews of designs and code.

Develop comprehensive development standards to make our development approach and environment consistent and maintainable across the developer community.

Provide thought leadership, architectural and design reviews and oversee enforcement of standards through design.
Prepare architectural design documentation, present and get it approved from Arch Review Board (ARB), architectural decision record (ADR)

Able to effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders by tailoring message for intended audience

Understand and stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to work with product management and the architecture team to determine potential fit for technologies to address market problems, enhance the product and speed delivery of new features to market.

Designs and implements solutions to business problems per market competitiveness.
Provides guidance and coaching to team members on designs, explaining key concepts to adhere to during implementation, as well as general mentoring on application functionality and technology best practices.

Translate software requirements into concise/robust architecture and technical requirements

Participates in planning, feature reviews, and iteration demos by attending and fully engaging in meetings

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science/information technology, or related field

Essential Qualifications:

Proven experience as a software architect for 5+ years.
Minimum 10+ years developing applications –preferably web based - in a Java Spring, Spring Boot environments
Practical experience developing solutions with cloud vendors including PaaS services and containers, with deep domain knowledge in Azure and AWS.
Deep knowledge of architectural and design patterns for business tier and web development
In-depth and practical Java development experience including a deep technical understanding of the Spring and Spring Boot frameworks
Practical experience developing modular systems with loosely coupled architecture
Experience architecting scalable, performant and secure solutions in a hosted/SaaS environment
Experience with Web application security, OWASP, Application Security best practices
Outstanding communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience designing/migrating applications to modern, modular and loosely couple systems in multiple cloud providers (Azure, AWS, Google, IBM, on-premises)
Experience developing software for a commercial product
Experience modelling non-SQL database using industry standard best practices
Experience with accounting and/or audit industry concepts
Experience with infrastructure (networking, firewalls, and SEIM) and continuous delivery concepts.
