Position Summary:
The Team Member Engagement Specialist Lead position supports and facilitates team member recognition, events, and engagement efforts for the property. This role partners with the Sr. HR Business Partner and the HR team to ensure support for actions that result in high team member engagement, retention, and guest satisfaction.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes superior internal/external guest service.
Maintains and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.
Develops, communicates, and facilitates recognition and engagement activities that are aligned with property culture and objectives.
Monitors and ensures that designated company and department specific recognition and engagement activities are frequent and effective.
Serves as a visible, approachable presence in collaboration for all departments, building relationships, team member engagement and promoting open communication.
Gathers and analyzes team member feedback through the suggestion program and engagement surveys.
Coordinates & facilitates monthly Service Ambassadors and team member engagement meetings. Provides summary of actionable items and communicates with the department leaders for collaboration and support.
Develops and facilitates all team member events to promote our fun, friendly and motivating culture.
Coordinates team member engagement initiatives including but not limited to planning and administration of our annual team member engagement survey, PULSE surveys, and action plans for improvement.
Partners with the HR team to provide support for HR department initiatives and projects as needed.
Administers and tracks the online recognition systems and intranet, budgets, and distribution of resources, prizes, and gifts for recognition and engagement programs.
Creates and facilitates creative, and memorable events & recognition programs, awards such as Service Hero of the month/quarter, guest survey awards, holiday and themed events and activities, community events, volunteer activities, celebrations, town halls, birthdays, anniversaries, engagement raffles and participation awards, and a variety other team member contests.
Tracks engagement survey participation, recognition activities, and retention data to measure program success.
Prepares reports and shares insights with HR leadership to guide continuous improvement.
Stays current on hospitality trends and best practices in employee engagement.
Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) or Four (4) year degree in Hospitality Management, Human Resources Management, or other related field or equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
Three (3) years of experience in team development and facilitation of Human Resources recognition, events and engagement initiatives, or related experience.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.
Demonstrated creativity and attention to detail to ensure every team member engagement initiative, recognition activity, and event reflect our brand and values.
Must demonstrate a positive, engaging and “can do” approach and be able interact with team members at events and recognition occurrences in a similar manner.
Demonstrated Microsoft Office ability and/or certification and willingness to learn HRIS, CANVA and other systems.
Must be available to work a flexible schedule to support events (including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for an 8-hour shift.
Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.
Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working knowledge of best practices in casino environment.
HR Certification (PHR/SPHR, SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP).
