Job Summary

We are seeking a Team Leader to lead the Customer data insights/MI/BI portfolios within the Business Data Insights and Enablement function. This role is pivotal in driving customer-centric innovation, enabling strategic decision-making, and embedding advanced analytics across product and segment teams.

This leadership role sits within the Analytics & Modelling sub-job family and is focused on unlocking actionable customer insights through advanced analytics, behavioural modelling, and strategic enablement. The successful candidate will be a deep domain expert with the ability to lead a high-performing team, solution across product and segment, and collaborate closely with key stakeholders in the Customer team, Product teams, and the Highlander programme.

The role demands a visionary leader who can shift the current reporting-heavy environment into a future-fit, insight-led capability, driving maturity across the data value chain and enabling monetizable, customer-focused outcomes.

Job Description

Qualifications & Experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, or related field (required).

  • Postgraduate qualification in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Applied Statistics (preferred).

  • Minimum 7+ years’ experience in customer analytics, insights, or data enablement roles within a commercial bank, ideally in Personal and Private Banking.

  • Strong understanding of advice-led, non-banking financial products such as investments (preferred).

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence strategy across business and technical domains.

  • Demonstrated experience in working with engineering and architecture teams to deliver structured, scalable data solutions.

  • SAS Certified Advanced Analytics Professional

  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate

  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)

  • Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate

  • Advanced SQL Certification

Key Responsibilities

Customer Insight Leadership

  • Lead the development of customer insight capabilities across product and segment teams situated within Business Data Insights and Enablement

  • Translate behavioural, transactional, and engagement data into strategic opportunities for growth, retention, and experience optimization.

  • Drive the use of predictive and prescriptive analytics to inform product design, channel strategy, and customer lifecycle management.

 

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Build and lead a specialist team focused on customer analytics, segmentation, and enablement.

  • Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and delivery excellence.

  • Uplift data maturity by embedding advanced analytics practices and transitioning from reporting to insight generation.

 

Cross-Functional Solutioning

  • Partner with Product teams to co-create customer-centric solutions informed by deep insights.

  • Collaborate with the Enablement & Insights team to standardize tooling, embed horizontal capabilities, and ensure scalable delivery.

  • Work closely with the Customer team in PPB to align insights with strategic priorities and customer experience goals.

  • Engage with the Highlander team to ensure alignment with broader transformation initiatives.

 

Advanced Analytics & Enablement

  • Apply advanced modelling techniques using SQL, SAS, Python, and BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlikview).

  • Lead initiatives to automate insight generation and streamline data processes with the enablement team

  • Ensure insights are embedded into decision-making processes across the business, working with the data science & advanced analytics team within CDAO.

 

Data Strategy & Governance

  • Champion data quality, integrity, and governance across customer data domains.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and the Business Data Insights and Enablement function to define structured, scalable data solutions and ensure optimal data warehouse design.

 

Strategic Enablement & Monetization

  • Translate insights into monetizable opportunities, supporting product optimization, customer value growth, and strategic enablement.

  • Influence data strategy and delivery across the business, aligning with enterprise-wide goals and benchmarks.

Education

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies
