Position Overview
Team Lead of COS performs all duties required of advanced level in assigned areas. Team Lead Sets-up and operates all machinery/equipment with superior efficiency. Additionally, Team Lead of COS is responsible for performing visual/physical inspections and tests for quality and quantity, analyzes and diagnoses equipment malfunctions.
Areas of Focus
Team Lead of COS will focus on expediting repairs and corrective measures to prevent excessive downtime, schedule interruptions, and eliminate defects.
Responsibilities
• Monitors controls and gauges to assure proper functions
• Able to efficiently make change overs to equipment as schedule requires
• Load and punch containers on automatic feed line, clean molds, clean tin bath and flux stations; pour straps
• Make appropriate parameter adjustments as needed to ensure batteries meet all specifications
• Ensures continual operation of the COS assembly area
• Distributes department work orders (production, shipping, etc.)
• Assist other team members as needed to maximize production
• Conducts and coordinates the training of new employees
• Completes daily standard production reports
• Ensures proper procedures are followed by all employees in area including safety, quality and production
• Ensures safety supplies and personal protective equipment are used appropriately
• Reviews the function and output of area operations to ensure that production levels are maintained, and equipment is repaired and operating correctly
• Completes required documentation for production, inventory, SPC, administration, etc. and properly file all completed documentation for future reference
• Completes required computer system input, analysis and reports relative to the area
• Identifies unsatisfactory employee performance, verbally notifies employees of procedure violations or behavior problems and informs Supervisor of performance events
• Communicate various company policies and procedures to employees
• May give verbal input regarding employee performance during employee review process
• Follow and maintain Lean activities (5S, housekeeping, hygiene, etc.)
• Comply with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE
• Understand & practice the Quality policy
Basic Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent; 4-5 years of manufacturing experience
• Forklift driver certification
• Must have training certification for each area of responsibility
• Proficient in Microsoft software products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and any department specific computer program
Preferred Qualifications
• Three to four years in Trojan production environment
