Systems Integrator

Leidos is seeking an experienced Systems Integrator to join our Infrastructure and Lab Engineering team supporting our Transportation Solutions customers. This role involves maintaining and sustaining software development and test labs, serving as a liaison between engineering teams, and implementing innovative solutions using current and emerging technologies.

The position requires reliable on-site presence in our Eagan, MN office, to support program development and test labs, which are comprised of a variety of computing equipment. Occasional on-call support may be required. The Systems Integrator will also be responsible for establishing and conducting test routines, developing or executing project plans and schedules, and documenting work.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Collaborate with software and system engineers to design and implement infrastructure solutions for development and testing.
  • Perform systems integration tasks such as debugging, resolving software/system issues, automating job functions, and supporting system architecture and testing.
  • Design and implement lab environment capacity and security requirements, including automation for Linux and Windows systems.
  • Develop and oversee system-level architectural plans for servers, workstations, storage, and networks.
  • Ensure program labs are secure and accessible across WANs, coordinating with Corporate IT for firewall policies.
  • Gather system requirements and create implementation plans with Engineering leads.
  • Create and maintain documentation for contract delivery.
  • Perform routine backups of data to various storage systems (NetApp, QNAP, Bacula).
  • Administer root passwords, user IDs, and file systems.
  • Provide engineering support to employees working at customer sites.
  • Manage software releases, including distribution, installation, and deletion.
  • Collaborate with functional teams (integration, test, software) to maintain lab operations.
  • Continuously monitor and improve lab health and maintenance processes.
  • Ensure lab accessibility and security by coordinating with network engineering and security teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, etc.) and at least 5 years relevant experience. An additional 4 years of experience, education, and/or relevant certifications will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency in network protocols, switch configurations (Cisco, HP), and Linux systems (Red Hat, Ubuntu).
  • Experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter, VNC Viewer/Guacamole, AWS administration, and scripting.
  • Expertise in systems integration, security hardening, tool development, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Desire to expand systems/software engineering skills.
  • Management of user accounts using IPA/LDAP.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and work planning.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to read and create high-level diagrams, network diagrams, and cable marking specifications.
  • Ability to diagnose/triage and resolve basic hardware issues.
  • Understanding of the systems development life cycle (SDLC), with focus on development labs from design to implementation to maintenance to decommission.
  • Senior-level experience with tools and technologies such as CD/CI using GIT, Sikuli Administration, Coverity Administration, Atlassian software, Ansible script development, VMWare ESXi administration, Linux/AIX Administration, and Windows/Windows Server systems.
  • Administration and implementation experience with systems running on Amazon Web Services, including EC2, EBS, and Glacier.

Must be able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance; due to contract requirements, must be a U.S. Citizen.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $85,150.00 - $153,925.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
