Key Position Responsibilities

  • Apply maintenance using SMP/E.
  • Code and troubleshoot issues with JCL.
  • Define network connections for printers, Iseries, and mainframe devices.
  • Respond to issues with mainframe committed printers.
  • Define resources to the transactional system known as CICS.
  • Assist users with problem determination for CICS-related issues.
  • Define and maintain JES2 resources.
  • Perform maintenance and coordinate the centralized faxing system, Rightfax.
  • Prepare and participate in yearly Disaster Recovery procedures.
  • Manipulate various software products, including those from CA and IBM, as well as OEM products.

Specific Accomplishments Encouraged in First 6-18 Months

  • Gain full knowledge of all current systems, including mainframe, Iseries, and Rightfax.
  • Take on the main role for all Computer Associate software products.

Essential Functions Required

  • Perform installations, maintenance, and issue resolution for each of Broadcom AKA Computer Associates software offerings.
  • Code and read Assembler or COBOL programs

Skills/Attributes Required/Sought

  • Profound understanding of z/OS, Unix Systems Services, and Iseries.
  • In-depth SMP/E knowledge.
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP for z/OS related network configuration practices.
  • Ability to develop and adjust ISPF Panels.
  • Profound understanding of ACF2 Security administration practices.
  • Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and execution for both Mainframe and I-Series.
  • Advanced Job Control Language (JCL) skills.
  • Knowledge of transactional systems (CICS) internals.
  • JES2 Administration experience.
  • Ability to compose and maintain documentation for various Operating System environments.
