Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our growing GCCS-J [Global Command and Control – Joint Chiefs of Staff] team.
This position 100% onsite Newport News, VA,
GCCS-J is the Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Command and Control (C2) system of record. GCCS-J supports commanders and warfighters as they conduct joint and multinational operations by providing a fused picture of the battlespace within an integrated system that is supporting Joint Warfighter needs today. GCCS-J is focused on meeting emerging operational needs through sustainment and modernization.
Along with sustainment and modernization, GCCS-J will focus on modifying and enhancing elements and capabilities to implement new requirements, enhance functionality, increase efficiency.
The GCCS-J team is seeking a Systems Administrator knowledge of security best practices, DoD policies, and the entire system life-cycle with respect to security, and the willingness to be hands-on within a lab environment.
Responsibilities :
- Assist with application Support and Process Improvement.
- Assist supporting the DOD Global Command & Control System (GCCS-J) program.
- Assist with Project planning, Project coordination, Application Deployment, and Virtualization.
- Windows Servers, Linux Servers, Desktops, Laptops, Printers, Atlassian Product’s, Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket and VMWare, and Veeam Backup.
- Support leadership and executives resolving technical issues and concerns.
- DoD Cyber Workforce Framework Windows Administration
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 five years’ experience a master’s degree with 3 years’ experience or a high school diploma / equivalent with 9 years’ experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience in networking (IP addressing, subnetting, VLANs, routing) and storage administration.
- Work onsite Newport News, Virginia
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration-level with RHEL 9
- Experience with Windows (Client and Server) administration-level experience (Windows 11, Server 2022).Kubernetes
- Working knowledge of virtual environments consisting of VMWare technology.
- Secret clearance.
*Experience with Kubernetes or other similar experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced system performance tuning, service optimization, and high availability setups
- Expert in managing system services and configuring LVM
- Proficient with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
- Advanced Active Directory management (GPOs, Domain Controllers, trust relationships, functional levels)
- Experience with Windows imaging and configuration tools (MDT, SCCM, PowerShell DSC)
- Skilled in deploying, administering, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters
- Familiar with centralized logging/monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- Advanced scripting with PowerShell, Ansible, or Terraform
- Strong enterprise network design and architecture (LAN, WAN, DMZ, VPN)
- Expertise in advanced routing (OSPF, BGP) and Layer 3 networking
- Proficient with VLANs, NAT, NTP, and load balancing
- Experienced in securing networks with firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS
- Capable of implementing multi-site, site-to-site, and client-to-site VPNs
Primary Level Salary Range: $91,200.00 - $136,800.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
