The Sustainability Officer will support the Global Head of HSEC in fulfilling legal requirements and stakeholder expectations on Health, Safety, Environment, and Climate Change.
The role focuses on monitoring HSE compliance across assets, improving and formalizing Gunvor’s Environment and Energy Transition management systems, conducting due diligence, and ensuring high-quality internal and external reporting.
Main Responsibilities
Work with assets to ensure applicable legal requirements are identified, monitored, and addressed.
Support assets in developing an HSE compliance system and managing relationships with relevant authorities.
Identify and update Climate Change–related reporting requirements; prepare internal and external reports on Energy Transition plans and performance as legally required or internally defined.
Lead the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of a reporting framework for Energy Transition issues.
Contribute to the development of the Energy Transition strategy and scenario analysis; develop related internal procedures and support their implementation.
Assess new projects in terms of Energy Transition impact, and collaborate with Business and M&A teams to systematically integrate these aspects.
Work with assets, trading desks, and Nyera to further develop and deploy the transition trajectory and climate change management roadmap.
Participate in due diligence processes for projects related to carbon, green, and transitional activities, as well as traditional projects when required.
Anticipate upcoming regulatory and stakeholder expectations; collaborate with the HSEC department and other teams to design and deploy relevant approaches.
Support the development of training materials on Corporate Social Responsibility.
Contribute to the maintenance and update of intranet and internal communication tools on Sustainability topics.
Profile:
Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
4-5 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, or Mining.
Experience in due diligence processes.
Strong knowledge of HSE requirements for industrial assets.
Good understanding of Energy Transition frameworks, European Taxonomy, and transition scenarios.
Excellent communication and writing skills (in English and French).
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
