Surgical Liaison Nurse - Orthopaedics

About the Role

You will work closely with the Operations Manager for Planned Surgery, the Deputy Planned Surgery Manager, the Planned Surgery Team and the Orthopaedic team to manage the Orthopaedic Surgical Waiting List. Key deliverables in this role include ensuring that within the team we treat patients within their clinically indicated timeframe and facilitate timely access to care for our patients.


Classifications for this position is YU11 ($102,278.80 per annum) pro rata.


Your Contribution

  • Bachelor of Nursing, which meets the registration requirements of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

  • Current Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia through AHPRA

  • Awareness of the Elective Surgery Policy and the Department of Health requirements.

About Planned Surgery

The Planned Surgery Management Team (PSMT) coordinates and case manages patients that are on the St Vincent’s Hospital elective surgery waiting list in accordance with the planned surgery waiting list policy and the Department of Health Planned Surgery Access Policy. The PSMT is responsible for the case management of all patients across the surgical specialties at SVHM.
