What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
- Responsible for SQE support of Scout Supplier Park / Platform Assembly to facilitate subassembly delivery and sequenced parts to Production
- Possess significant Project Management acumen to organize and implement seamless process transition from supplier to assembly
- Support the creation of detailed reports of Supplier Quality PPA activities to Pilot Hall to facilitate KPI attainment
- Lead and manage effective inspection and foster a culture of quality within the organization
- Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from suppliers
- Ensure that records of testing, information and various metrics such as number of defective products per day etc. are maintained
- Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations
- Initiate Corrective Actions to resolve identified quality issues
- Communicate findings and recommendations to appropriate personnel
- Collaborate with Supplier Quality Engineer to address any discrepancies or quality issues promptly
- Strong attention to detail and a results-driven approach
- Thorough knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and standards
- Collaborate with Scout’s Design, Quality, and Manufacturing to determine the ideal performance specifications and supplier metrics.
- Promotion of superior quality performance and functional standards, to ensure all vehicle activities are met in the supply chain to meet Customer satisfaction.
- Ensure Scout’s Quality expectations are met and that suppliers can meet the industrialization related activities on time with the Supplier Quality team and escalate when unable.
- Work as a partner with the Supply Chain to ensure escalations of issues are raised and resolutions are resolved in a timely manner.
- Ongoing monitoring supplier manufacturing process development, launch readiness for new products and design changes.
- Promote continuous improvement activities in cost, quality, and manufacturability utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Suggest Quality improvements with Engineering, Quality and Operations to ensure Quality KPI’s are met and drive to exceed expectations.
- Support the planning, execution and evaluation of root cause analysis to ensure high quality Scout production vehicles through fast response methodologies.
- Lead, participate and drive Scout’s Quality expectations as required to ensure KPI’s are met.
- Work to mitigate warranty claims with suppliers to drive closure and resolution of issues with the cross-functional group.
- Work cross functionally with other departments within Scout.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, South Carolina
- The responsibilities of this role require attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
- Travel: Domestic and international travel required, approximately 25-40% of the time. Valid driver's license required. Passport required.

- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 5 - 7 years of experience in Manufacturing; preferably in VW/Audi systems
- Significant experience in SAP or another ERP System
- Ability to support supplier activities with Supplier Quality Engineers to ensure suppliers can meet customer requirements and expectations.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
- Proven ability to execute Project Management techniques.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills, a collaborative spirit
- Entrepreneurial thinking with goal- and result-oriented decision-making skills
- Understanding of safety requirements
- Strong technical writing ability using SPC and data analysis as well as an ability to explain complex issues in a concise and plain manner.
- Appreciable technical understanding and sound specialist knowledge of vehicle development, Vehicle production and Supply Chain management.
- Excellent operations experience and very good understanding of the vehicle assembly/ functionality as a whole.
- Sound knowledge of quality management and methodologies.
- Experience in the following Quality Systems aspect considered a plus:
- Multiple language skills as an asset.
- Global Experience an asset.
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required, approximately 25-40% of the time.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $95,000.00 - $120,000.00
