Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY PROGRAM MANAGER in the Deputy, Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Office OSHE Deputy Director (Code 106D) at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) OSHE Office (Code 106) of NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Major Duties:

  • You will function as NNSY's Deputy consultant on all aspects of OSHE Programs.
  • You will observe the effectiveness of environmental related policies and programs and initiating changes, where necessary, to improve the effectiveness of NNSY operations.
  • You will make decisions and participate in OSHE DON policy development concerning such matters as programs or major projects to be initiated, dropped, or curtailed.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience applying in-depth knowledge of naval shipyard facilities, equipment and operations, to work effectively and efficiently with management, technical, labor, and administrative personnel at all levels of NNSY in the integration of OSHE requirements and objectives with the operations of all NNSY shops, codes, and projects. Experience evaluating OSHE programs to ensure staff, equipment, and procedures are adequate to meet OSHE requirements and objectives; and providing consultation and advice to the OSHE Office Head. Experience demonstrating expert knowledge developing effective and efficient teams and organizations. Experience demonstrating advanced knowledge in industrial, chemical, and environmental engineering disciplines. Experience demonstrating in-depth knowledge of Federal, state, local, DoD, and DON OSHE laws and regulations to allow adequate planning, evaluation, and execution of short and long range plans and programs which will impact both NNSY and NAVSEA concerns. Experience providing strong written and verbal communication skills such that they can successfully interact with all levels of workers and leadership at Norfolk Naval Shipyard as well as communicating with local NAVSEA representatives and senior off-site personnel. Experience analyzing and evaluating data, determining trends and identifying corrective actions and ability to perform self-assessments. Experience in workforce development and demonstrating knowledge of EEO regulations. Experience collaborating across boundaries and building strategic relationships to ensure common goals are achieved.
