Job Summary: You will serve as a SUPERVISORY INTERDISCIPLINARY ENGINEER in the ELEC/ELEX TEMP SERVICES ENGINEERING DIVISION of PSNS and IMF. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Major Duties:

  • You will direct the efforts of technical staff in the accomplishment of engineering tasks.
  • You will provide long-range planning necessary to assure accomplishment of, or changes to, tasks.
  • You will establish priorities and assign work cognizance.
  • You will perform periodic and comprehensive evaluations of task objectives and goals.
  • You will counsel, makes decisions, and advise subordinates on unusual and unique technical problems.
  • You will provide all necessary managerial and administrative duties associated with the operations of the division.
  • You will review and assume responsibility for final technical adequacy and timely completion of the work performed by the technical Branches.

  • You will direct technical staff in the completion of engineering and planning work in area of responsibility.
  • You will serve as a consultant engineer and principal advisor to the CHIEF ENGINEER.
  • You will provide managerial and administrative duties related to managing subordinate employees.
  • You will provide long-range planning to assure project accomplishment for assigned branch work.
  • You will counsel and advise employees on technical problems or approaches and personnel matters.
  • You will assign training plans for employees.
  • You will establish priorities and assign work with the branch.
  • You will collaborate with department/ division heads of various areas to negotiate, decide on, and/or coordinate hiring and staffing related changes affecting the organization.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience as a professional engineer executing electrical or electronic system plans for ships undergoing overhaul, modification, conversion or repair projects.
