Major Duties:
Qualifications: You must meet the time-in-grade and specialized experience requirements by the closing date of the announcement. Time in grade: You must have completed one year at the GS-9 grade to be eligible for the GS-10 grade For the GS-10 level: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 level that demonstrates the following: Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of inspection activities of ingestible items, working with SSOPs and HACCP principles and practices. Skill in applying proper techniques for collecting samples and performing field tests and examinations; and experience in reaching and interpreting conclusions. Experience developing written reports and communicating findings verbally. Experience in maintaining personal contacts with internal and external stakeholders. *Past or present supervisory experience will enhance your qualifications for this position. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
