Job Summary: This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration(BPA), in the Power Account Services (PSS) organization of Northwest Requirements Marketing (PS), Power Services (P). A successful candidate in the Supervisory Account Specialist position will serve as the Power Account Services Manager with responsibility for developing, implementing, and evaluating all programs and policies associated with the organization's long- and short-range strategic goals.

Major Duties:

  • This position serves as the Power Account Services Manager, responsible for administering BPA's long-term power contracts from development through implementation and upkeep. Directs development of data, analyses, and decision support to deliver on customer service objectives and resolve issues. Establishes organizational goals and objectives, leads workplan development, oversees deliverables, and monitors and evaluates performance of programs, projects and staff. As a second-level manager, oversees and directs both staff and subordinate managers, fulfilling broad range of supervisory and managerial duties such as assigning and delegating work, assuring cross-organizational alignment and prioritization, managing performance, developing staff, and shaping team dynamics. Represents interests and work products of organization internally and with external customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as 1) experience leading, performing and coordinating customer-facing contracting or analytical work associated with power sales agreements (e.g. generation, distribution, transmission), and 2) facilitating decision-making using an organization's standard decision tools and processes and implementing those decisions once made. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
