1. Role and Scope of Position:
Responsible for implementing the work schedules to meet and exceed all compliance, regulatory and company requirements. Coordinate and schedule field work ensuring that required workload is completed in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. Adheres to prescribed time frames for all capital, maintenance and compliance workload to maximize the productivity of district operations. Responsible for the monitoring of district performance through utilization analysis. Plans, organizes and manages the Gas Distribution field workload through accurate forecasting, staffing calculations, scheduling and management reports. Prepares work schedules for district operations through analysis of projected workload, resource requirements and prescribed time frames. Ensures that workplans and schedules facilitate timely and cost-effective completion of all capital workload including new business, compliance and mandated work, system reliability, and maintenance and construction.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the day-to-day scheduling of all short and long-term Gas Distribution workload in a district. Ensures that area resources are available to meet workload demands.
- Monitors current and future workload to ensure district plans and schedules maximize productivity, control costs and meet or exceeds service level agreements (SLA’s).
- Monitors district performance through analysis of manpower utilization and workload trends and productivity. Keeps district management informed of results.
- Responsible for district integrity of data input into work management system and operating databases.
- Assists with district liaison activities with local and municipal officials. Resolves customer issues and concerns, as required.
- Ensures an adequate inventory of materials is available in the district to perform all scheduled work.
- Prepares weekly and monthly workload status reports for management.
- Generates district work plans and schedules that ensure resources are available to meet workload demands. Works with central office and Distribution Supervisors to provide contingency plans for re-balancing workload.
- Creates, maintains and upgrades accurate short and long-term forecasting and staffing models that ensure the effective utilization of distribution resources.
- Evaluates current procedures and recommends changes to improve the efficiency of planning and scheduling of projects.
- Works with Compliance Coordinators to distribute district compliance and mandated program work.
- Ensures that all projects are executed and closed out in a timely, accurate and cost-effective manner and according to Company policy.
- Develops time and cost schedules for district management through analysis of survey statistics and productivity information.
- Performs and facilitates performance discussions with employees.
- Provides coverage for planners and manager as needed.
- Ensures consistency and standardization across the service territory.
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
- Requires working and technical knowledge of specific Distribution Department activities including construction standards, operating and maintenance procedures and regulations related to Distribution field activity.
- Ability to use PC desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Work Management and spreadsheets).
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated skill in workload planning and resource allocation.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, related discipline or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Requires five (5) to ten (10) years of experience in Gas Operations

Working Conditions:
- This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. Successful applicants shall be subject to a pre-assignment drug test if the individual is currently in a non-safety sensitive position. As an employee in this position the individual shall be subject to random drug testing. A positive drug test will result in disciplinary action.
- Work is performed primarily in an office environment which requires visits to job sites on an as needed basis. Job can require spending time driving to different geographic locations.
- Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
- Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
