Job Description:

Oversees Hill Health primary care and pulmonology Medical Assistants (MA) – including hiring, training, annual reviews, and discipline as needed. Is responsible for the day-to-day workflow of clinical team. Reports to and works collaboratively with Practice Administrator on management of MA staff and workflow development.

Also an experienced, clinically strong, medical assistant focused on providing an outstanding patient experience and the ability to work with the clinical team (including Physicians, Nurse Practitioners) as well as the front office staff and Practice Administrator to ensure appropriate quality care for patients of the Hill Health practice. Responsible for assisting providers with clinical and administrative tasks involved in running a high-quality medical practice.

Job Responsibilities

  • Direct patient interactions including, greeting, rooming, assisting providers

  • Greeting and rooming patients.

  • Obtaining vital signs, medication reconciliation, pharmacy preference.

  • Review quality risk/care gaps (Hill Metrics/Cozeva) and print out reports for providers daily.

  • Performing non-invasive, routine, technical supportive services with the specific authorization and supervision of a medical provider, including CLIA waived testing, injections, skin tests, EKG testing, and obtain Advanced Beneficiary Notice (ABN) as needed.

  • Assisting a medical provider in exam rooms.

  • Documenting all required information in the patient’s electronic medical record.

  • Day to day Supervision of Medical Assistants

  • Oversight of MA assignments and workflows

  • Ensures MA attendance is consistent and supports the practice

  • Hires, trains, reviews, positive discipline for Medical Assistants as needed.

  • Supports Practice Administrator and Providers in developing rolling out new programs and workflows.

  • Communication and correspondence including lab results, prescription refills, quality programs, referrals and authorizations as requested by a medical provider

  • Managing in box messages and providing feedback and answers to patient, medical provider, insurance plan, and/or pharmacy.

  • Triaging messages from patients and front office staff to medical providers.

  • Giving instructions to patients as instructed by a medical provider.

  • Maintain logs, required checks, exam rooms, and supplies

  • Maintaining all logs and required checks (i.e., refrigerator temperatures, defibrillator battery, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, etc.)

  • Disinfecting and cleaning rooms between patients and at end of the day.

  • Keeps exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, and prepare sterilization as required.

  • Assisting with clinic upkeep, including daily cleaning and supply ordering/inventory.

  • Work in EHR to document all required information in the patient’s chart and ensure pertinent information is available prior to a patient’s appointment.

Non- Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensuring office space is clean and professional

  • Scanning and sorting documents

  • Training new employees

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum 2 years of medical assisting experience required

  • High school diploma

  • Medical assistant certification

  • Experience using Electronic Health Record system, preferably Epic

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Ability to multi-task

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • A passion for patient care

  • A “can do” attitude, showing initiative and willingness to adapt to change

  • Ability to participate in strong team environment

Additional Information

Salary: $31 - $39 Hourly
