Job Description

Location: Remote Schedule: Monday–Friday, typically 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (or as defined by the school)



Language Requirement: Must be fluent in Spanish



Required: Valid Teaching Certification

Key Responsibilities

· Deliver instruction to students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher, using provided lesson plans and digital tools.

· Support a virtual classroom of approximately 20 students, typically in two 4-hour instructional blocks.

· Provide direct instruction or assist a co-teacher, depending on the assignment.

· Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging virtual classroom environment.

· Communicate high expectations and support student participation and academic progress.

· Adapt instruction to meet the needs of bilingual learners and students with diverse backgrounds.

· Monitor student behavior and engagement in a virtual setting.

· Collaborate with school staff to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of instruction.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.

· Valid teaching certification.

· Fluency in Spanish and English (spoken and written).

· Experience teaching or working with children in a virtual or classroom setting.

· Ability to pass a federal background check and obtain a T1 Personnel Clearance.

· Reliable internet connection and a distraction-free home office setup.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience teaching in bilingual or ESL settings.

· Familiarity with K12 curriculum and virtual learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams, Canvas).

· Strong classroom management and communication skills in a remote environment.

· Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and student needs.

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level.  Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections.  Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range. 

  • We anticipate the salary range to be $50K-55K Eligible employees may receive a bonus.  This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors.  These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions. Stride offers a robust benefits package for eligible employees that can include health benefits, retirement contributions, and paid time off. 

Work Environment

· This is a remote, as-needed position.

· Substitute assignments may vary in length and frequency.

· Must have a dedicated home workspace and reliable internet access.

· Occasional virtual training or meetings may be required.
