Strategic Projects & Insight Director, Global Travel Retail 

The Global Travel Retail department is a strategic business entity of CHANEL, with the mission to reinforce the House’s leadership in this dynamic channel while ensuring sustainable growth and safeguarding brand equity. By anticipating industry shifts, fostering innovation and building meaningful collaborations internally and externally, Global Travel Retail drives transformative strategies for the future. 

Reporting to the Head of Global Travel Retail, the Strategic Projects & Insights Director will act as a visionary and transformative leader, shaping the long-term strategic vision to 2035, driving high-impact initiatives, influencing external partners, and embedding Travel Retail expertise within the organization. By guiding insights and fostering alignment, this role sustains CHANEL’s excellence in Travel Retail. 

Position located in Geneva, Switzerland with frequent worldwide travels. 

 

 

THE IMPACT YOU CREATE AT CHANEL : 

Strategic Lead & Business Transformation 

  • Steer and enrich the long-term Travel Retail strategy and roadmap, aligned with CHANEL’s global vision, to secure sustainable growth and brand Image and be ahead of the industry in the next 10 years. 

  • Drive the TR 2035 vision internally and co-build and roll-out the developement plan with Regions and Divisions. 

  • Lead high-impact cross-divisional strategic projects, ensuring progress, alignment, and measurable results through clearly defined KPIs. 

  • Act as a strategic advisor to Travel Retail Divisions and regional teams, embedding expertise and driving alignment. 

Travel Retail Industry Influence 

  • Represent CHANEL at major industry forums and conferences to gain fresh insights and engage with the TR ecosystem, fostering long-term partnerships and growth opportunities for the House. 

  • Cultivate trusted relationships with airports, operators, media agencies, and industry stakeholders to reinforce CHANEL’s leadership in Travel Retail. 

  • Oversee major TFWA events to elevate CHANEL’s visibility and influence in the industry. 

  • Serve as the internal reference point to build and deploy TR industry and traveler insights across Regions and Divisions. 

  • Coordinate with PR/Communication teams the Media strategy across markets in Travel Retail. 

Travel Retail Intelligence & Insights 

  • Build a robust intelligence roadmap with the Global Insight & Foresight Team and external partners to analyze traveler and consumer behavior and industry prospective. 

  • Analyze competitive dynamics, retail evolution, traffic forecasts, and business performance to anticipate trends and adjust strategy proactively. 

  • Share actionable insights across the Travel Retail network to guide decision-making and strengthen expertise across all categories. 

Leadership & People Development 

  • Be an active member of the Global TR Executive Committee, shaping decisions and driving impact with a strong spirit of transformation. 

  • Lead and inspire a direct team of 2 people while coordinating a broader network of cross-functional Travel Retail executives. 

  • Animate the Travel Retail community by promoting collective success, sharing best practices, and organizing regular meetings to bring together all TR leaders.
