Store Leaders are essential to ABC Fine Wine & Spirits’ success as they are responsible for the overall sales, staff, profitability, and operation of a single retail store. Store Leaders demonstrate
ABC’s Core Values with our Guests and Team Members. They ensure their store operates effectively and within ABC guidelines, coach and develop Team Members, and work closely with
their District Manager to maximize successful store operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate ABC’s Core Values with our Guests and Team Members every day.

  • Identify opportunities to grow sales and improve store operations; develop plans of action using all available resources.

  • Ensure store merchandising consistently meets operational and visual standards.

  • Meet or exceed all established sales, budget, and profit/loss goals for assigned store.

  • Demonstrate the judgment, emotional intelligence, and mental capacity to effectively coach Team

  • Members, provide constructive feedback, and hold individuals accountable to performance and behavior expectation.

  • Ensure staff hiring aligns with store budgets, actively review and interview candidates in Workday

  • Recruiting, update statuses, and hire candidates in posted positions while communicating hiring needs to the District Manager.

  • Lead Team Member performance management by providing timely feedback, coaching, encouragement, and ongoing career development.

  • Manage mental demands and resolve conflict effectively: Demonstrate strong emotional and mental resilience to navigate the daily demands of a dynamic retail environment. This includes the ability to appropriately manage and resolve conflict among Team Members or with Guests, using sound judgment and professionalism. Effective conflict resolution and conflict management are essential functions of this role and critical to maintaining a safe, respectful, and productive workplace

  • Submit store schedules on time in Workday, leveraging approved payroll hours.

  • Ensure standards of service are met by creating a sales-focused environment through the team.

  • Read and analyze reports; drive store performance metrics such as average transaction, Sourced & Certified sales %, margin, and payroll.

  • Responsible for successful operations of inventory control, replenishment, and merchandising guidelines.

  • Lead a culture where learning and sharing ABC Fine Wine & Spirits’ product knowledge with all Guests and Team Members is a priority.

  • Perform typical management tasks including, but not limited to, opening/closing the store, cash control reconciliation, and approving payroll.

  • Responsible for operational compliance according to policy to ensure safety.

  • Complete all required training through ABC University and stay up to date on company policies and procedures; support the development of team members by reinforcing training content and best practices.

  • Participate in all mandatory company-sponsored classes, including online training, and attend offsite or virtual meetings as required.

  • Assist with resets, remodels, new store openings, and wine tastings at other stores.

  • Serve as the lead trainer in their store; responsible for the proficiency of all Team Members in all tech platforms and store operations technology.

  • Work with store vendors; develop relationships and follow ABC guidelines for deliveries.

  • Partner with HR. Business Partner for HR-related issues, needs, questions, or concerns.

  • Know who to contact in Team Member Services, Warehouse, and SSC for ongoing needs.

  • Hold regular team meetings; communicate policies, changes, and procedures.

  • Ensure truck unloads are scheduled and completed weekly.

  • Resolve any Guest complaints in a reasonable timeframe.

  • Provide regular updates to D.M. & HRBP regarding store performance, team, and opportunities.

  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by D.M.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.

  • At least 6 months of proven experience and/or training in a management or leadership role; at least 2 years of education from a college or technical school in Business Management or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Completion of the L.I.T program also fulfills this requirement)

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as business requires, including nights and weekends, especially during holidays

General Requirements:
Maintain regular and predictable onsite attendance: All Team Members are expected to report
to work as scheduled and remain onsite for the duration of their shifts. Reliable onsite attendance
is an essential function of the job to ensure operational success and consistent service for our
Guests.

Physical Requirements: (With or Without Accommodations)

  • Continuously: Standing and moving about for extended periods (up to 8 hours or more).

  • Frequently: Moving between sales floor, stockroom, and exterior areas of the store.

  • Frequently: Bending, lifting, and twisting (BLT) to move product and assist with merchandising.

  • Frequently: Lifting and/or transporting up to 40 lbs. throughout the store and stockroom.

  • Occasionally: Overhead lifting to place or retrieve items from high shelves.

  • Occasionally: Use of ladders and step stools to access merchandise stored at varying heights.

  • Frequently: Moving between sales floor, stockroom, and exterior areas of the store.

Vision Requirements: (With or Without Accommodations)

  • Frequently: Visually inspect product labels, signage, and displays to ensure accuracy and presentation.

  • Frequently: Detect and respond to visual cues such as Guest gestures, product placement, or safety hazards.

Work Environment:

  • Occasionally: Working in or with elevated locations and tools (e.g., ladders, stockroom).

  • Occasionally: Exposure to outdoor weather conditions while maintaining the property or assisting Guests.

  • Occasionally: Exposure to fumes or airborne particles when using cleaning solutions or supplies.

  • Occasionally: Exposure to refrigerated temperatures (32–41ºF) when stocking or retrieving product in the cooler.

  • Frequently: Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Frequency Key:
