Stinger is of high strategic importance to Raytheon and the warfighter.  Stinger is a high-paced, high priority program experiencing development to production activities that have contracted scope exceeding $2 Billion dollars and over 250 full-time equivalent employees, directly and matrixed all working together to meet customer demands and schedule.

The Stinger program is seeking a Program Director to manage the program to include partnering with other aerospace and defense contractors, drives program performance and execution using our Raytheon Leadership Program Management practices and principles. The role is accountable for the execution of contracts, growth and future pursuits, maintaining positive relationships with customers, and collaborating with Offset authorities.  

What You Will Do

  • Be accountable for the execution of contractual milestones with strict adherence to cost and schedule expectations

  • Empower and lead a group of Integrated Product Team Leads and Functional leads from multiple organizations including Engineering, Finance, Contracts, Supply Chain, Operations, and Security to execute contract milestone to contractual requirement and company policies

  • Manage multiple major suppliers to make on-time deliveries, cost adherence to purchase orders while maturing new technology

  • Interface with the customer community, responsible for creating strong partnerships to meet critical customer needs.  Provides regular briefings to senior government leaders

  • Have responsibility for establishing vision, strategy, overall leadership and execution of the primary middle tier acquisition development contract. 

  • Manage profit and loss, stay on task with the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), development and execution, program Estimate at Completions (EACs), and scope control.

  • Implement and manage a robust risk and opportunity process use it to drive performance predictability.

  • Set program priorities, resolve conflicts and barriers, manage interdependencies, implement gates and major reviews with the customer.

  • Work with the Short-Range Aerial Defense (SRAD) Executive Director and other program leadership in the portfolio to ensure alignment of contracts with coordinated, aligned dependencies.

  • Work with senior business leaders to develop program strategies, conduct internal and external program reviews, strategic supplier management, and engage in status reporting to senior Government leaders.

  • Collaborate with other programs to align common development strategies and coordinate the use of shared test facilities and assets.

  • Provide regular briefings to senior Raytheon leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and minimum of14 years of relevant weapon industry experience OR an Advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 12 years of experience

  • Experience managing cost, schedule, and technical performance for programs with use of program management tools such as Earned Value Management System (EVMS), Integrated Master Plan (IMP), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Risk and Opportunity Management, Scope Board, or similar business processes

  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date with the ability to obtain program access after start

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Advanced Degree with a concentration in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

  • 5 years minimum program management experience leading development programs

  • Demonstrated success creating and maintaining strong executive level relationships with suppliers, customers, government representatives, primes and internal peers

  • Existing TS/SCI clearance.

  • Experience working with Air Force, Navy, MDA, or other US customers on government programs (large/complex)

  • Previous experience supporting programs in a complex classified environment, with demonstrated knowledge of security practices and processes

  • Experience managing international contracts

  • Experience integrating systems on airborne platforms

This role is based in Tucson, AZ and will require travel for customer and supplier engagements.

The salary range for this role is 176,000 USD - 352,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
