About the Role:

The Recruiting team at Stack AV is responsible for building the workforce that powers autonomous trucking. From the engineers developing cutting-edge autonomy systems to the professional drivers operating our development fleet and the mission control specialists ensuring every mile is driven safely and efficiently.

The Staff Technical Recruiter will lead full-cycle recruiting for Stack AV’s rapidly growing software, AI, and machine learning teams, ensuring the company attracts and hires world-class technical talent to advance its mission of building safer, smarter autonomous trucking solutions. This role partners closely with engineering and product leaders to define hiring strategies, strengthen recruiting operations, and deliver a best-in-class candidate experience that reflects Stack AV’s culture of innovation and collaboration. As part of a lean and collaborative team, this recruiter will also support hiring across other functions whenever the business needs extra hands or specialized sourcing expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead full-cycle recruiting for key technical roles, including software engineers, ML specialists, and robotics experts who power Stack AV’s core autonomy systems.
  • Partner with engineering and leadership teams to forecast technical hiring needs and design scalable strategies that align with company growth.
  • Build and maintain pipelines of top-tier technical talent through proactive sourcing, networking, and relationship-building across relevant communities and domains.
  • Deliver a structured, transparent interview process that evaluates technical depth, problem-solving ability, and alignment with Stack AV’s values and mission.
  • Collaborate closely with hiring managers to craft precise role profiles, interview plans, and selection criteria that align with business and technical priorities.
  • Use data and recruiting metrics to monitor progress, identify bottlenecks, and continuously improve efficiency and candidate quality.
  • Provide mentorship and partnership across the recruiting team, sharing insights and best practices to elevate overall technical recruiting capability.
  • Support recruiting efforts across other disciplines as business priorities evolve, contributing to the team’s all-hands-on-deck approach.
  • Represent Stack AV with professionalism and enthusiasm, ensuring every candidate interaction reflects the company’s commitment to safety, innovation, and excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of eight years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including at least five years focused on technical recruiting in software, AI, or Machine Learning.
  • Proven success hiring senior and staff-level+ technical talent for high-growth or emerging technology companies.
  • Strong understanding of the Robotics and Machine Learning landscape, with the ability to engage confidently on technical topics with hiring managers and candidates.
  • Experience supporting a range of disciplines, including hardware, embedded or cross-functional roles, where business needs shift quickly.
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and partner effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and data-driven approach with a focus on metrics that improve hiring quality, efficiency, and candidate experience.
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems such as Greenhouse and sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, or specialized technical communities.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment while maintaining a focus on quality, collaboration, and process excellence.
  • Passion for advancing technology safely and responsibly while helping to shape the future of autonomous logistics.
