Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a qualified and innovative Staff Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation to join the innovative Model Based Test & Evaluation (MBTE) team where we are advancing cutting-edge technology. We are seeking a creative and driven Staff Engineer Systems Modeling Simulation - Modeling and Tools Development to tackle complex challenges and deliver impactful solutions. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
Note: This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team to develop processes and techniques using software engineering best practices and standards.
Collaborate across multiple groups, including Program Management, external suppliers, and government customers.
Prepare and coordinate technical review boards, ensuring stakeholder engagement and approval.
Take ownership of multiple processes and apply technical expertise to solve complex problems.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 12 years of relevant experience; OR Master of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 10 years of relevant experience; OR PhD in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with 8 years of relevant experience.
Your ability to transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance (DoD must be in-scope or enrolled in Continuous Evaluation) and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.
Proficiency in Python and C++.
Experience in database design and management.
Experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC).
Knowledge of software optimization techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Atlassian tools and Agile software development.
General knowledge and experience with SQL.
Proficient in HPC environments, including Slurm or similar management software.
Expertise in software optimization for faster-than-real-time computing.
Experience with Cameo.

Primary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $221,500.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
