The Mechanical and Energetics team is hiring for a Staff Propulsion Engineer located in Chandler, Arizona.
Essential Functions
Ordnance subject matter expertise is essential. The expert will be the chief engineer for ordnance development and production efforts across Launch Systems including the following activities: requirements definition, environmental testing, vehicle performance assessments, support of anomaly/failure investigations and presentations to upper management. Prior experience leading ordnance design, integration and test teams is required.
This role interfaces directly with the local engineering team, program management, suppliers and customers. Technical oversight, issue resolution, safety training, schedule preservation, and subject-matter mentoring are all key components of this position.
Job Responsibilities
Provide oversight of all ordnance related activities at Launch Systems to ensure internal and industry standards are met. Consistently look for ways to modify or change existing methods or processes to improve outcomes. Determine engineering tasks required for project planning and execution; Analyze project requirements and develop detailed planning, conceptual designs, and risk analysis. Some travel required (up to 25%).
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 13 years of related engineering experience
Active Secret Security clearance
Ability to work in a team environment, and lead people
Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to large customer community.
Ability to solve problems, lead troubleshooting efforts, drive tasks to completion
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle multiple concurrent projects and priorities
Primary Level Salary Range: $147,700.00 - $186,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
