It’s how we care, grow, and win together. Owned Brands Product Operations is a key enabler, leveraging Project Management and Sourcing capabilities to lead cross-functional development of products and packaging that have a positive impact on people and the planet.  The Product Operations Senior Project Manager role at Target is the center of the owned brand product cross functional team.  

A Sr. Project Manager drives all phases of Owned Brand product and packaging creation, from project kick off through results analysis.  The Sr. Project Manager is responsible for understanding business objectives as well as establishing the optimal product and packaging approach to deliver on guest expectations.  In this role you will leverage your project management, communication and collaboration skills to create & deploy program management strategies and processes, portfolio prioritization management, enhance project management capabilities and influence cross-functionally in service of our owned brand ambitions.  Your ability to work in a complex, fast-paced and matrixed environment will ensure operational excellence and exceptional execution for the businesses you support. 

Project Planning & Management

  • Strategic project planning and execution for Product and Packaging Creation, utilizing Operating Model choices and Stage-Gate decision making
  • Partners with project team and stakeholders to define project requirements, constraints, and assumptions in order to establish the project deliverables, resources needed, and timelines.
  • Monitor project progress, assess risks and complete hindsighting post-project completion
  • Identifies opportunities for efficiencies in future projects by leveraging analytics, reporting, & hind-sighting to drive future State-Gate and Project Plan improvements.
  • Coordinate management of related projects for efficiency, visibility and connectivity
  • Prioritize projects and resources to align to strategic goals

Cross Functional Leadership

  • Facilitate recurring cross functional team meetings, project milestones and decision gates
  • Influence and lead cross functional team through all phases of Project to support business strategy and goals
  • Engage Stakeholders in decision making and support of business strategy and project deliverables
  • Showcase change mindset, leadership and advocacy in support of continuous improvement and evolution efforts
  • Navigate ambiguity and drive teams towards decisions and action aligned to strategic goals.

Problem Solving & Change Management

  • Ability to break down a problem to identify the root cause, troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate issues quickly & effectively.
  • Use problem solving & critical thinking skills to facilitate effective decision making within the cross-functional team
  • Identify ways of working and process improvements that accelerate business outcomes
  • Influence partners and operationalize business practices that accelerate the achievement of Target Owned Brand growth 
  • Champion change management and incorporate methodologies as project teams experience various degrees of change

About You:

  • Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-7+ years project management, program management, operations or relevant experience
  • Proven expertise in planning, organizing and executing multiple complex project plans and resources
  • Proficiency with Smartsheet or comparable project management software
  • Strong communication and influence skills across all levels and functions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Curious and committed to continuous learning

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
