Sr. Procurement Business Partner

Remote (Mexico) Full time

REPORTS TO:      Global Procurement Manager                                   DEPARTMENT: Procurement

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Go to expert, partnering with our internal business units to support corporate strategy. Supports internal customers through purchase lifecycle, providing expertise with complex decisions with cross impact. Must have a solid and thorough understanding of sourcing, contracting and negotiation principles, concepts, and practices/standards as well as a proven track record of successfully applying such knowledge and practices in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thrives when given autonomy and flexibility to work both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Typical Activities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the category function, including lifecycle requests, new projects, and ad hoc support for stakeholders.

  • Contributor to core projects and initiatives supporting corporate strategy.

  • Ability to scope and define work projects into well-defined milestones and timeframes.

  • Proactively tackles future issues and prioritizes outcomes that are meaningful.

  • Develop and initiate the buying process by working with internal teams and propose strategies toward success.

  • Provide market expertise and feedback to Procurement Contracts team when necessary to successfully close supplier negotiations.

  • Define and communicate risks to stakeholders, including Sr. Director of Procurement

  • Weekly project task reporting to Sr. Manager of Procurement

  • Maintain relationships and real time communications with suppliers and internal stakeholders regarding project status and manage expectations around such.

  • Regular and ad hoc analysis and reporting of data.

  • Monitor supplier performance and communicate issues, as well as work with stakeholders in various parts of the organization and suppliers to ensure that contract needs are met, and issues are resolved.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to support Procurement team and internal customers on tight deadlines with high visibility.

  • Consistently complete tasks in a timely manner with frequent interruptions

  • Strong aptitude for business document writing, interpretation, and negotiation.

  • Ability to analyze information and effectively present concepts in written, spreadsheet, and presentation format.

  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Effectively present ideas and concepts in written or presentation format and use consultative and facilitation skills to gain consensus.

  • Familiarity with Coupa as a procurement tool is preferred but not required.

  • Other projects as assigned by Procurement leadership.

Position Specific Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in sourcing, analytics, and negotiations in a related field.

  • Must possess an in-depth knowledge of indirect procurement.

  • Ability to perform pricing strategy, negotiation, contract administration, and financial analysis; and convert these activities into actionable reports and presentations.

Onboarding Plan & Milestones

First 30 Days: Foundation & Immersion

  • Learn company procurement strategy, policies, and tools (e.g., Coupa).

  • Meet key stakeholders and suppliers; begin relationship building.

  • Shadow procurement processes and start weekly reporting.

Days 31-60: Integration & Contribution

  • Lead/support category function activities and core projects.

  • Communicate risks and project status to stakeholders.

Days 61-90: Leadership & Optimization

  • Manage projects independently; define milestones and timeframes.

  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve contract issues.

  • Deliver actionable reports and recommendations to leadership.

6-Month Goals

  • Demonstrate ownership of multiple procurement categories and projects.

  • Deliver measurable cost savings or process improvements.

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with internal customers and suppliers.

  • Present at least one business case analysis to senior leadership.

  • Proactively identify and mitigate procurement risks.

12-Month Goals

  • Establish yourself as a go-to expert for procurement strategy and solutions.

  • Lead major sourcing, contracting, or negotiation initiatives.

  • Quantify and report on year-over-year improvements in cost, efficiency, or supplier performance.

  • Mentor junior team members or onboard new hires.

  • Drive adoption of best practices and contribute to procurement process evolution.
