Sr. Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer
We are looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer/CNC Programmer to join our EST team in Hatfield!
As our Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be a key technical leader and project coordinator responsible for driving innovation in manufacturing processes, ensuring high-quality output, mentoring team members, and collaborating across departments to develop efficient, cost-effective solutions. This role requires an experienced engineer with a strong CNC background, adept at developing and optimizing manufacturing systems, tools, and processes from inception to completion. The ideal candidate is skilled in precision machining and passionate about improving manufacturing workflows.

Salary range: $94,700 - $126,000 plus bonus opportunity

YOUR CHALLENGE:
Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs for a variety of machining centers
Set up and operate CNC equipment including Swiss lathes, Vertical Turning Lathes (VTL), CNC turning centers, and milling centers
Collaborate with production teams to improve cycle times, tool life, and part quality
Utilize CAD/CAM software to design and simulate machining processes
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tooling, programming, and machine performance
Design, develop, and implement manufacturing processes, workflows, and standard operating procedures to support the production of components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies.
Interface with design engineering to review and influence new product designs for manufacturability, cost efficiency, and production readiness.
Determine process parameters, labor standards, and tooling/equipment requirements to support high-yield and scalable manufacturing operations.
Perform advanced methods analysis, time studies, and process simulations to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Evaluate engineering changes, coordinate cross-functional input, and drive implementation across production, quality, and supply chain functions.
Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and standard procedures.
Facilitate design reviews, root cause investigations, and risk assessments related to manufacturing performance, quality issues, or equipment reliability.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., quality, procurement, planning, engineering) and external vendors to support cost estimates, resource planning, and tooling development.
Implement lean manufacturing practices, automation solutions, and capacity planning initiatives to drive productivity and reduce waste.
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and provide technical oversight and feedback on manufacturing best practices.
Interface with internal teams, customers, and external partners to gather requirements, align expectations, and communicate technical progress.
Support technology roadmap development, capital equipment planning, and strategic initiatives to improve the long-term capabilities of the manufacturing organization.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
6–10+ Years Work Experience of progressive experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering with increasing technical responsibility and leadership.
Proven experience in CNC programming, setup, and operation
Proficiency with CAD/CAM software, including Inventor CAM, Mastercam, or equivalent
Hands-on experience with CNC Swiss, VTL, CNC turning, and milling centers
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
Proven success in leading the development and optimization of manufacturing systems and processes within complex engineering environments.
Deep expertise in manufacturing engineering principles, lean methodologies, and process validation techniques.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, quality systems, and safety.
Demonstrated ability to apply engineering judgment and data-driven analysis to solve complex production challenges.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience working cross-functionally and managing competing priorities in a dynamic production environment.
