Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Communications Lead will manage and execute the communication strategy for the DDAT Pharmacy Services team. This position will own the process to analyze and optimize communications to enhance the organization’s internal and external messaging in alignment with the Caremark business and DDAT strategy.  They will be a key driver of strategic communications initiatives within the PS DDAT Strategy Office, collaborating closely with the PS DDAT Senior Vice President and leadership team to enhance colleague engagement and foster a culture of transparency and collaboration.  This position will be instrumental in driving engagement and information sharing, strengthening PS DDAT culture, and improving the PS DDAT team’s ability to effectively communicate their achievements and the significant work being done by the team.  The Communications Lead will work in a cross functional team in a large matrix organization. This candidate will need to quickly build relationships with key stakeholders to identify needs and position an executable blueprint for PS DDAT communications to deliver outcomes.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Story-finding, crafting & narrative Development

  • Proactively source impactful stories from the ongoing events, technology execution, and colleague development that illustrate intended value and outcomes

  • Transform technology work, experiences, impact data, and program insights into compelling, audience-specific content

  • Craft compelling executive communications for internal audiences, including speeches, video scripts, leadership emails, and messaging around business priorities, organizational changes, and company initiatives

  • Serve as a trusted communications advisor to senior leaders, helping them connect authentically with their teams and communicate with clarity and impact

  • Challenge partners to think differently regarding critical communications, act as a thought partner, and model creative storytelling and high-quality communications assets

Messaging & Multi-Channel Strategy

  • Partner with the PS DDAT leaders, HR, and DDAT Communications to develop and execute short- and long-term communication strategies, including multi-channel communication campaigns that optimize engagement

  • Create and manage engaging content and communication assets across multiple channels such as newsletters, intranet articles, email/org announcements, town halls, executive meetings, digital signage, and external media, as appropriate

  • Tailor content for each channel while ensuring brand and message consistency

  • Test innovative formats, such as videos, interactive media, infographics, to broaden reach and deepen engagement
      

Communication Management & Coordination

  • Manage relationships with PR, creative, and internal agencies, ensuring deliverables meet quality, brand, and strategic objectives

  • Coordinate cross-functional campaign execution, ensuring unified messaging and timing

  • Collaborate with PS DDAT LT to identify and close internal DDAT communication gaps; develop, contribute to, and maintain communications protocols

  • Serve as a key advisor to PS DDAT leadership in crafting accurate, transparent, and timely messages and responses

  • Coordinate with leadership, internal teams, and external agencies to ensure consistent, confident handling of sensitive issues

Internal Enablement & Alignment

  • Co-strategize with Change Management and HR and implement employee engagement initiatives, all employee surveys, and the performance and development process to drive a culture of growth, feedback, and continuous improvement

  • Create toolkits, talking points, and ready-to-use content for the CDTO, his executive teams, and PS DDAT partners

  • Train and coach internal teams on effective storytelling to uplift the PS Technology story, strategic delivery, and engagement

  • Foster a culture of story-sharing across the organization

Measurement & Optimization

  • Create and maintain communications standards for PS DDAT in alignment with the overall DDAT Comms and Enterprise Communications strategy

  • Define and track KPIs for reach, engagement, and message adoption across channels

  • Leverage analytics and feedback to refine storytelling and channel strategies

  • Produce high quality, consistent work within established timelines and budgets 

  • Ensure high quality and consistent storytelling across all PS DDAT artifacts 

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality across all communications


Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of overall work experience with a concentration in a communications role required

  • Experience in corporate communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or agency experience required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proven ability to convey information in an accessible, concise, and clear manner

  • Apply critical thinking skills in conducting research and evaluating information

  • Strong fundamental business acumen and analytical skills necessary to communicate critical context and establish effectiveness metrics

  • Strong track record of effective communication

  • High attention to detail and the ability to juggle competing priorities

  • Apply critical thinking skills in conducting research and evaluating information

  • Expertise with influencing and navigating a highly matrixed environment to drive results


Preferred Qualifications

  • Customer centric, creative, and strategic; prior customer-facing experience is preferred

  • Project management experience is preferred

  • Experience working with the media a plus

  • Skills in multimedia content production and editing


Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, advertising, liberal arts or equivalent is required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $182,549.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
