About the Team

Workday is seeking a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting who wants to make their mark on a growing organization. The candidate should be a self-starter, an excellent communicator, and enjoys collaborating with people with a diverse set of talents, in an ambitious, fast-paced environment. This role reports to the Director of Corporate Accounting.

About the Role

Corporate Accounting department is looking for highly motivated Accounting Manager to join a collaborative and growing team. This position will report to Director of Accounting. Through the involvement in various operational activities, monthly close procedures and process improvement, this position will play a pivotal role in building the team and optimizing the accounting processes.

Responsibilities of the position:

  • Global month-end close activities: Perform and review monthly accounting close activities such as reviewing of journal entries, expense accruals, fixed asset management, account reconciliations, optimizing close processes with efficiency and accuracy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure close processes are pacing on-track and communicate ad-hoc items with supporting commentary
  • Prepare monthly fluctuation analyses and financial statements analytics, providing relevant explanations for fluctuations to Management
  • Deliver successful performance of key SOX controls and business processes.
  • Provide  assistance  in  drafting  accounting  policies and memos. Support  external  audits  and  reviews  by  ensuring timely completion of supporting schedules to the auditors.
  • Identify and streamline workflows to maximize operational efficiencies
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational innovation and regularly interact with business owners and management on accounting matters​
  • Develop and mentor accounting staff to build their professional career and maximize potential
  • Perform ad hoc analyses and projects from the management
  • This position will manage 4 to 6 direct reports

About You

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or with an emphasis in accounting)
  • Minimum 10 years of accounting experience
  • 3+ years of experience managing people
     

Other Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of accounting experience and 5+ years of experience managing people
  • CPA or Chartered Accountant or similar qualification preferred
  • Public accounting, software and/or SaaS industry preferred
  • Experience managing fixed assets accounting operations in a global company
  • In depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices and principles (specifically, US GAAP)
  • Experience using large ERP systems with an understanding of end to end system and process flows
  • Proficiency with MS Excel
  • Experience with tight deadlines and timeliness for work performed
  • High attention to details and accuracy, excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities
  • Collaborative teammate to work with cross-functional teams
  • Eagerness to learn and tackle challenges in a rapidly growing and dynamic environment
