Industrial Maintenance Technician Position Overview

The role combines advanced technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, focusing primarily on maintaining and troubleshooting complex electrical and automated systems.

Shift Details: (2:00 pm - 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday), or until the completion of tasks.

Key Technical Responsibilities

  • Maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing various electronic and electro-mechanical systems throughout the distribution center
  • Providing comprehensive electrical support for multiple facility systems including conveyor systems, A-Frame sorting equipment, industrial printers, and strapping machines
  • Troubleshooting control systems ranging from relay logic to microprocessor-based controls
  • Working with advanced equipment, including power feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, AC/DC drives, PLCs, UPS systems, compressors, and CRAC units
  • Self-directed learning of new systems as technology evolves

Leadership Aspects

  • Leading and training other facilities assistants
  • Serving as a technical mentor to team members
  • Maintaining professional relationships with vendors
  • Communicating effectively with the facilities team, operations, and IT departments

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of related experience
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
  • At least 2 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC, electrical, or a combination
  • Strong problem-solving skills and quick learning ability
  • Flexibility with work hours, including potential holidays and call-ins

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Light electrical construction experience
  • Experience with Windows operating systems and work order systems
  • Experience with Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO) procedures
  • Understanding of OSHA regulations
  • Associate degree, trade school certification, or verifiable technical training
