Reporting directly to the Plant Director, you as a Sr. Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the control, analysis, and reduction of scrap generated in manufacturing processes through the implementation of continuous improvement strategies that optimize resources, enhance production efficiency, and contribute to meeting the company’s quality and cost objectives.

You will monitor scrap levels across production lines and processes, perform root cause analyses, and define corrective and preventive action plans. You will coordinate improvement initiatives with Production, Quality, and Engineering departments to reduce waste and support operational efficiency. You will also ensure compliance with internal procedures for the segregation, disposal, and documentation of rejected materials, as well as company safety, quality, and environmental policies.

You will prepare and present periodic scrap reports with key indicators by line, product, and process. Additionally, you will participate in internal audits related to scrap control, quality, and processes, and lead continuous improvement projects focused on waste reduction and process optimization.

About the Job:

  • Monitor and analyze scrap levels across all production lines and processes.

  • Conduct root cause analysis of waste and define corrective and preventive actions.

  • Develop and present periodic scrap reports with KPIs by line, product, and process.

  • Coordinate with Production, Quality, and Engineering to implement scrap-reduction improvements.

  • Ensure proper segregation, documentation, and disposal of rejected materials according to company procedures.

  • Participate in internal audits related to scrap control, quality, and processes.

  • Propose and implement continuous improvement projects aimed at reducing waste and optimizing production processes.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies regarding safety, quality, and environmental management.

  • Location: Piedras Negras, Coahuila, On-site / Presential.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Electronic, Mechatronic, or related Engineering.

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in the electronics or electronic components manufacturing industry.

  • Experience in scrap control, process analysis, and continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 8D methodologies.

  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis tools (Ishikawa, Pareto).

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (Advanced Excel; Power BI preferred).

  • Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, IPC).

  • Analytical thinking, problem-solving, and results orientation.

  • Effective teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail.
