Sr Director - Manufacturing Logistics Lead

Organization Overview:

Organizational focus on development of end-to-end warehouse and logistics strategy. Drive standardization of logistics operations globally and supports product movement between sites and regional affiliates in partnership with 3PLs and Commercial/Site teams.

Role Overview:

Manufacturing Logistics Lead to be responsible for establishing and executing comprehensive warehouse strategies, evaluating global capacity needs, documenting global processes, ensuring compliance with GMP and GDP standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, mitigating supply chain risks, analyzing data for informed decision-making, managing costs, and effectively communicating with stakeholders to ensure the efficient and compliant flow of materials and products throughout the manufacturing supply chain.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage warehouse vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures for external warehouse activities and associated systems
  • Capacity evaluation, process design, implementation, and execution of central and shared inbound external warehouses. Work with sites to develop user requirements and procure/manage 3PLs to establish appropriate facility and operational capabilities.
  • Drive harmonization/optimization across the manufacturing network of warehousing and shipping operations
  • Drive alignment to global strategies and processes within the manufacturing network
  • Meet the standards of best industry practices and can fulfil operational and customer demand
  • Ensure manufacturing warehouse and logistics capacity for established inventory levels at nodes in the supply chain
  • Focus on bringing structure, process, and optimization to manufacturing warehouse capacity management, transportation, and reverse logistics
  • Support manufacturing logistics network on safety, compliance, equipment, and staff
  • Manage implementation of various Intercompany process improvement initiatives
  • Work cross functionally to support processes for verification of product receipts, supporting transportation of inbound and return materials, visually inspecting purchased products & recording results and material dispositions.

Leadership:

  • Coach, manage and develop manufacturing Logistics - strategy staff to optimize performance and meet targets and deadlines
  • Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements
  • Provide guidance for development and coaching to direct and indirect reports to prepare employees for placement into future positions
  • Establish an effective performance management process reviewing all direct report's progress and continually develop their effectiveness as leaders and technical practitioners, providing opportunity for career development

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in a Logistics and Warehouse management role
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience performing business analysis and solutions deployment in the Warehousing, and Logistics domain
  • Experience in both foreign and domestic trade practices, logistics, and international law
  • Advanced skills with key applications for Program Management (i.e., PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Visio, etc.)
  • Has worked in international and multifunctional teams

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Highly skilled communicator with the ability to communicate complex concepts to others
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form and maintain strong relationships internally and externally and engage with stakeholders
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Holds CPIM and APICS (Logistics, Transportation and Distribution) Certifications preferred
  • PMP Certified preferred
  • Six sigma green / black belt with relevant experience preferred

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$154,500 - $226,600

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
