In this high-impact role, you will go beyond data architecture —you will shape data strategy, influence decisions, and lead innovation in how we use data to power growth.
Watts Water is seeking a seasoned Senior Data Architect to lead the data Architecture, development, and optimization of our enterprise data ecosystem. This role will drive our next-generation data platform, leveraging Azure Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks, and SAP ecosystem to enable advanced analytics, data governance, Artificial Intelligence, and sustainable scalability across global business units.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
Define and implement enterprise data architecture strategies aligned with Watts Water’s digital transformation initiatives.
Design data models and integration patterns across Azure Fabric, Snowflake, Databricks, and SAP environments.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable data pipelines and ensure consistent usage of a unified data fabric.
Optimize data ingestion, storage, and retrieval performance across structured and unstructured datasets.
Establish best practices for data modeling, lineage, and governance frameworks.
Partner with business stakeholders to translate analytical and reporting needs into robust architectural solutions.
Guide the evaluation and adoption of modern technologies supporting AI/ML, advanced analytics, and real-time insights.
Mentor data engineers and analysts on architecture and data management best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
15+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, data lakehouse architecture, streaming data architecture, and enterprise data solutions design.
Organic career growth in large data ecosystems would be a big plus.
Expert-level knowledge of Azure platform services, including Azure Fabric and related data tools.
Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing data solutions in Azure, Snowflake, and/or Databricks.
Experience integrating SAP data (S/4HANA, or BW) with modern cloud data platforms.
Deep understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling (Kimball/Inmon), Data quality, and metadata management.
Working knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
Proven success leading large-scale data modernization or cloud migration initiatives.
Mentor junior data engineers and code/design review of team members data deliverables.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with API-driven integrations and data virtualization concepts. Experience with Power BI, data cataloging, and analytics enablement. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
Strong problem-solving orientation and ability to navigate complex technical ecosystems.
Microsoft Azure architecture or other relevant certification in cloud data domain is a plus.

Working Conditions:
For hybrid employees: While performing the job duties, you will be working in an office environment. You will be required to work in the office at the Andover, MA or Fort Worth, TX location three days per week (Monday – Wednesday) and can work remotely two days per week (Thursday and Friday).
For remote employees: While performing the job duties, you will be working remotely in an office environment. You may be required to occasionally travel to and work in the office at the Andover, MA and/or Ft. Worth, TX locations for meetings, trainings, or as otherwise required by Company management.

Pay Range:
The expected salary range for this position is:
MA: $142,000-$153,000 yearly
TX: $134,000-$144,000 yearly
Remote: $135,000-$148,000 yearly
Actual compensation will be dependent upon individual skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable law.
