About the Role

In this role, you will work with values and purpose driven teams who's focus in helping shape a better planet. Your team leads with Do the Right Thing by innovating, defining, embedding, and leading the strategic initiatives of our Supplier, Product, and Environmental Sustainability teams as well as building our ESG analytics and reporting team. You will operationalize the work by embedding it further into Gap Inc. culture and every functional area through partnership with our Supply Chain and the Global Brand teams.

What You'll Do

  • Lead calculation of Gap Inc.’s annual greenhouse gas inventory and program management for climate programs across our owned and operated assets
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional partners to prepare the annual inventory for Scope 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, water consumption, and waste management
  • Collect, aggregate, and analyze data to measure impacts and progress toward goals across our brands, help the team prepare for emerging regulatory compliance and identify hotspots for action
  • Support the management of our existing renewable energy investments and support our packaging, transportation, real estate and store teams in identifying and prioritizing investments in energy efficiency, renewables and low carbon materials and fuels.
  • Keep abreast of existing and emerging sustainability frameworks, metrics, and industry standards, such as GHG Protocol, SBTi, CDP, TCFD, and CSRD to ensure that carbon and energy metrics and KPIs align with best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Support creation of executive level materials to communicate progress to goals and roadmaps for action
  • Conduct benchmarking and represent Gap Inc. at various industry forums on relevant topics

Who You Are

  • The ideal candidate will have a love of data/data analysis, experience analyzing and synthesizing information, and will have strong communication skills
  • High proficiency with business intelligence platforms and analytics tools like PowerBi, Microsoft Excel. Additional expertise with carbon accounting footprint is helpful but not necessary.
  • Experience with energy assessments, sustainability data analysis, environmental impact assessments, and greenhouse gas tools
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex sustainability concepts to various stakeholders
  • 2-4+ years of experience in an environment or sustainability-focused role, preferably within the fashion or apparel industry
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple projects simultaneously, across a global team.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and solutions-oriented attitude with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • This is a full-time in-person role based in San Francisco
