About the Role

As a Senior Analyst in Target’s HR Shared Services, you will lead the resolution of complex, escalated, or sensitive administrative tasks related to leave of absence (LOA) and accommodations. Your responsibilities include collaborating closely with on-site HR, internal stakeholders, Ops leadership, the Leave and Disability team, and team members to ensure compliant, efficient, and employee-centric outcomes.

You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for your peers, and uphold the highest standards of judgment, documentation, and cross-functional partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead escalated or complex LOA administrative cases and accommodation requests, including medical or non-standard scenarios.
  • Serve as an SME for leave policies, disability management, and return-to-work processes.
  • Partner with HRBPs, the Leave & Disability team, on-site HR, Ops leaders, and team members to manage high-risk or sensitive cases.
  • Own return-to-work planning for team members requiring layered or evolving accommodations.
  • Interpret and apply leave and accommodation policies, using sound judgment in ambiguous situations.
  • Drive quality by identifying gaps, ensuring accuracy, and prescribing effective action plans to eliminate errors and improve consistency in task management.
  • Support or lead process improvement initiatives, pilot programs, and training projects within the team.
  • Proactively assess potential risks and barriers when implementing new processes or streamlining existing ones, ensuring mitigation strategies are in place.
  • Represent the team in business reviews, cross-functional discussions, and contribute to strategic planning by providing insights into team performance, metrics, trends, and areas of improvement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in leave administration, accommodations, employee relations, or HR operations.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws including ADA, FMLA, PWD Act, and related compliance frameworks.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, issue resolution, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage escalations and influence cross-functional decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and case management systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to explain complex scenarios clearly.
