Sr. AI Governance Specialist

We are seeking a Sr. AI Governance Specialist to extend our Data Governance team and lead governance across AI, data, and knowledge assets. This role ensures that our AI services, models, and applications are developed and deployed in alignment with enterprise governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards.

As AI becomes increasingly embedded in enterprise operations, you will play a critical role in establishing trust, accountability, and compliance for our AI solutions. You will work closely with data governance, legal, compliance, security, and AI engineering teams to ensure that enterprise AI use cases are transparent, auditable, and responsible.

About the Team:

The Data, Analytics & AI team is a central team comprised of Data Engineering, Data Platform/Technologies, Data Analytics, Data Science, Data Product, AI, and Data Governance practices.  This team serves the enterprise that includes sales, finance, marketing, customer success, product and more.  The team serves as a core conduit and partner to operational systems that run the business including Salesforce, Workday and more. 

Key Responsibilities

AI Governance & Policy

  • Define and implement AI governance frameworks, building on existing enterprise data governance policies.
  • Establish guidelines and controls for responsible AI development, deployment, and monitoring (e.g., fairness, transparency, accountability).
  • Drive adoption of compliance and privacy standards in AI initiatives (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and industry-specific regulations).
  • Develop policies for data usage, model training, knowledge orchestration, and LLM customization to ensure compliance and ethical use.
  • Implement frameworks for AI audits, monitoring, and explainability to meet regulatory and enterprise needs.
  • Partner with security and compliance teams to integrate privacy and security into AI workflows.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging regulations and industry best practices for AI governance.
  • Collaborate with AI platform engineers and data scientists to embed governance into AI workflows (model lifecycle, data usage, RAG services).
  • Work with application teams to ensure AI solutions meet enterprise governance and compliance requirements before deployment.
  • Provide training and guidance for business and technical teams on responsible AI practices and governance standards.
  • Define and track key governance metrics (e.g., model transparency, compliance adherence, bias detection, audit readiness).
  • Support the development of certification and approval processes for AI models and services.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Law, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data governance, compliance, or risk management, with exposure to AI/ML systems.
  • Strong knowledge of data privacy and compliance regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, SOC2, etc.).
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts (model lifecycle, training data, embeddings, vector stores, RAG).
  • Proven experience working with governance frameworks in enterprise settings.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate governance requirements to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred

  • Prior experience in AI governance, responsible AI, or ethical AI initiatives.
  • Understanding of explainable AI (XAI), bias detection, and model interpretability frameworks.
  • Familiarity with MLOps and data governance tooling (e.g., Collibra, Alation, Immuta, MLflow, Model Cards).
  • Experience partnering with legal, compliance, and audit teams in highly regulated industries.
  • Strong track record of policy development and adoption in complex enterprises.
