Are you a pro at keeping sports facilities running at peak performance? We’re looking for a Sports Facilities Specialist to help manage the maintenance, operations, and scheduling of our athletic and recreation spaces.
In this hands-on role, you’ll coordinate facility upkeep, manage equipment, support event logistics, and ensure everything meets top safety standards. You’ll work closely with coaches, staff, and community partners to create an outstanding experience for athletes and visitors alike.

About the Position
Program Coordination:
- Assist in daily operations of county park facilities — including gyms, athletic fields, courts, and other recreation areas
- Provide excellent customer service: greet visitors, explain facility rules, handle calls, and resolve issues
- Open and close facilities, monitor usage, and ensure safety and compliance
- Support event and activity setup — arrange equipment, clean spaces, and assist with tournaments or special events
- Manage reservations and registrations in RecTrac, coordinate with community groups, and maintain accurate schedules and calendars
- Process payments, record facility usage, and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors
Facility Operations:
- Conduct facility inspections to identify and report maintenance needs
- Assist maintenance staff with field preparation, turf care, line painting, and equipment setup
- Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of park facilities — including gyms, fields, courts, offices, and restrooms; clean surfaces, empty trash, restock supplies, and keep grounds free of debris
About the Schedule
Work Hours:
- Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
- Working Hours: 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Englewood Sports Complex operates Sunday - Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
- Assigned work shift days will vary due to rotations, emergencies, etc.
About You
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent education
- Three (3) years of experience in recreational programming or in related area
- Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expereince with using Microsoft Office Professional and RecTrac or similar reservation software
- Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) certification
- Experience with Recreational, Athletics, or Leisure Service programming
Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.
Physical Demands: May occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds, with assistance.
About Everything Else
Starting Pay Range: $21.85 - $24.00/hr, based on experience
