The Specialty Dispensing Pharmacist 2 processes and dispenses Specialty Rx medication. The Specialty Dispensing Pharmacist 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

Location: 11010 Florida Crown Dr, Suite 200, Orlando, FL 32824

Hours of Operation: 6 am - 6 pm, Monday - Thursday & 7 am - 4 pm Friday

Shift: 10-hour shift Monday - Thursday, with rotating Fridays

Position Overview:

The Specialty Dispensing Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and compliant processing of specialty pharmacy prescriptions. This position supports patients with complex medication needs by dispensing prescriptions for delivery to homes or provider offices. The pharmacist works closely with healthcare providers and patients to resolve escalated issues, including drug interactions, contraindications, and therapy dependencies. Additionally, the role contributes to clinical initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes related to specialty medications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense specialty medications in accordance with clinical, regulatory, and operational standards.
  • Review and verify prescription orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions.
  • Resolve complex or escalated issues related to medication access, adherence, and safety.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and compliant prescription fulfillment.
  • Stay current with specialty pharmaceutical trends, treatment protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws and organizational policies.
  • Demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a flexible schedule to meet operational needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
  • Active and unrestricted Florida Board of Pharmacy license.
  • Ability to participate in Federal prescription programs.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient with computers

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a high-volume community or mail order pharmacy practice environment
  • Experience in a high volume mail order and/or retail setting

Physical Requirements

  • Pharmacist must be able to tolerate, handle, and work around all pharmaceutical products throughout worktime
  • Pharmacist must have dexterity to continuously twist and grasp items throughout worktime
  • Pharmacist must be able to stand 50-100% of worktime, lift up to 30lbs as needed, frequently reach, bend, stoop, and squat throughout worktime

    Pay Range

    The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.


     

    $94,900 - $130,500 per year


     

    This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
