The Ophthalmology Clinical Development Group is a highly dynamic and globally connected team based in Welwyn Garden City, UK, dedicated to the strategy, design, and execution of late-phase clinical trials for groundbreaking ophthalmology medicines.
We are seeking an ambitious, UK-based specialist trainee doctor to join us for a one-year Ophthalmology Clinical Development Fellowship (MD) - a unique opportunity to broaden your clinical training through the lens of pharmaceutical medicine. The Opportunity
This one-year fellowship offers a distinctive opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of clinical research methodology and medicines development from a global industry perspective.
As an Ophthalmology MD Fellow in the Global Clinical Development Group, you may:
Contribute to the design and execution of clinical studies, as well as the analysis and interpretation of data for both investigational and marketed compounds.
Interact with globally recognized academic experts and clinical investigators.
Participate in key clinical strategy, implementation, and study management meetings to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities and challenges of medicines development.
Provide clinical expertise in the ophthalmology disease area to cross-functional pharmaceutical development teams.
Contribute to the generation of abstracts and oral presentations for major external conferences (e.g., ARVO, AAO, EURETINA, ASRS) and other specialty meetings, along with potential publication opportunities.

Who You Are
A highly motivated and collaborative medical doctor currently undertaking a UK specialist training programme, ready to diversify your clinical training by immersing yourself in global pharmaceutical development
A UK ST4+ ophthalmology trainee or fellow (MD).
Deeply interested in advancing your understanding of and ability to influence the development and approval of medicines for patients with ophthalmic diseases.
Expected to secure Out of Programme (OOP) approval from your Training Programme Director or Deanery prior to commencing the post.
Prior clinical research experience is preferred, though not essential.
Please note that this is not a basic science fellowship leading to a post graduate degree.
