Specialist Software Engineer

What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will be part of the Benchtop Product Team supporting the SCCM infrastructure across the Operations network. We are look for ands-on expertise in designing, deploying, and managing enterprise-scale SCCM environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of Windows desktop and server operating systems, software distribution, patch management, and endpoint security compliance. 

 

Roles & Responsibilities:  

  • Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft SCCM infrastructure to support enterprise Technology operations. 

  • Manage OS deployment, application packaging, patching, and updates across distributed environments. 

  • Develop and optimize task sequences, collections, and automation scripts to streamline Technology processes. 

  • Perform monitoring, troubleshooting, and remediation of SCCM infrastructure and client issues. 

  • Create and maintain compliance baselines, security configurations, and reporting dashboards. 

  • Collaborate with cross-functional Technology teams (security, networking, server, and desktop support) to ensure system reliability and compliance. 

  • Maintain accurate documentation, including architecture diagrams, SOPs, and operational guidelines. 

  • Stay current with emerging Microsoft endpoint management tools, including Microsoft Intune and MEM (Microsoft Endpoint Manager). 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree with 8 - 12 years of experience in Computer Science/IT or related field OR  

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10 - 14 years of experience in Computer Science/IT or related field OR 

Functional Skills: 

Must-Have Skills: 

  • SCCM architecture, deployment, and administration 

  • Windows OS deployment (WDS, MDT, Autopilot) 

  • Application packaging (MSI, App-V, scripting with PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) 

  • Software update and patch management 

  • Compliance and reporting using SCCM SQL queries and SSRS 

  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, and WSUS. 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Intune, Azure AD, and hybrid endpoint management (preferred). 

  • Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills. 
     

Good-to-Have Skills: 

  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools (PowerShell DSC, Ansible). 

  • Knowledge of ITIL service management framework. 

  • Exposure to cloud-based device management and modern workplace solutions. 

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating in a team-oriented environment. 

  • Experience with AI Tools, Machine Learning, LLMs  – ChatGPT, Co-Pilot, Llama, Snowflake

  • Strong transformation and change management experience. 

  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams 

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully. 

  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
