We have an opportunity for a Specialist Nurse to join their team of staff in the Nursing department.
This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties of this role include:
- Deliver safe, high-quality, evidence-based care within your area of specialism, acting as a clinical expert and role model.
- Support assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with complex or long-term conditions.
- Provide education, support, and counselling to patients and families, empowering them to understand and manage their health conditions.
- Work collaboratively with consultants, GPs, allied health professionals, and other nursing colleagues to support integrated, patient-centred care.
- Act as a resource for education and clinical development within your specialty.
- Lead or support audits, patient feedback initiatives, and quality improvement programmes related to your specialist area.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse (Adult, Child, or Mental Health, depending on specialty) with valid NMC registration
- Substantial post-registration experience in breast cancer care.
- Demonstrable specialist knowledge and advanced clinical skills within a defined field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- You should demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge of breast disease management, including oncology pathways, and have excellent communication and counselling skills to provide holistic support to patients and families.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary team and delivering patient education is essential.
- A relevant degree or specialist qualification in breast care or oncology nursing (or willingness to work towards this) is desirable, along with evidence of ongoing professional development.
