We are seeking either a Principal Software Engineer (T03) or a Senior Principal Software Engineer (T04) as a skilled CUDA Developer to design, optimize, and maintain a refactored time critical process into a GPU-accelerated software solution. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of parallel computing, low-latency optimization and high-assurance coding practices. This position is located on-site in a Sensitive Compartmented Investigation Facility (SCIF) located in Redondo Beach, CA, and offers domestic and international travel opportunities.
The Ground Solutions and Mission Support (GSMS) Software (SW) Integrated Project Team (IPT) is a large, restricted group executing across both Development and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts. The SW Engineering IPT focuses on the development and sustainment of several operational SW mission product lines, as well as the development of new capabilities as coordinated with their restricted SCI Customer.
The SW IPT is a large team comprising of multiple subsystems, each with a specialized software focus. We are looking for an energetic and passionate technical lead to join our team as we work to provide innovative solutions to complex issues in support of our customer’s national security mission in the areas of Ground Enterprise Modernization and Transition Discrepancy Reports (DRs). In this role you will design, code, and verify the required solution, as well as coordinate all deliveries, DR resolution, and baseline needs with external stakeholders.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
Principal Software Engineer (T03): 5 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with Master's degree; 1 year with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Senior Principal Software Engineer (T04): 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 6 years with Master's degree; 4 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Active Single Source Background Investigation (SSBI) required at the time of application, and the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Investigation (SCI) prior to start
Experience developing, maintaining, and optimizing GPU-accelerated code using NVIDIA CUDA and C++
Debug and validate GPU computations to ensure accuracy and stability experience
Experience with programming/scripting languages: C++, Python, Perl
Knowledge and experience using the Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system
The ability to contribute to software documentation, technical reviews and code quality in accordance with standards
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous participation in an Agile scrum team or familiarity with the Agile process
Familiarity with the Atlassian Tool Suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees, management, and stakeholders
Active SCI security clearance
