Software Engineer III- FLEX/CONTRACT

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a Software Engineer III that designs, builds, and supports software solutions for some of the world’s largest retailers. Our developers are involved in the entire project lifecycle: they interact directly with our business owners to understand and document requirements; they collaborate with the implementation and test teams on design and development; and, they oversee delivery and provide ongoing support for their work.

Technical skills required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science/computer engineering or equivalent experience
  • At least 6+ years’ experience in Software development
  • At Least 6+ years experience with Elevate product usage
  • Java Standard Edition 1.4.2 and higher (Java 8 is a must)
  • Java Swing / UIXML Schema design
  • Extensible Markup Language (XML)
  • Experience with Version Control Systems (Git, GitLab, …)
  • Knowledge of Automated Testing practices (JUnit framework would be preferred)
  • Problem determination and debugging knowledge
  • Willing to Travel
  • Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
  • Hands-on experience on any IDE (Eclipse, VS would be preferred)
  • Attention to detail, teamwork attitude, and excellent communication skills.
  • The candidate needs strong programming and analytical skills.

Responsibilities: 

  • working in cross-functional teams to define POS application requirements
  • analyzing/providing schedule inputs, writing functional and design specifications
  • developing application software in an agile framework
  • supporting software test efforts, and participating in support maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with the implementation and test teams on design and development
  • Ensure proper process is followed, coding standards adhered to.
