Job Description: Software Engineer

How does this role contribute to our collective success?

This position is for a Tagetik software engineer who will work as part of a team responsible for developing new systems and enhancing existing solutions. These systems support the needs of the AXIS Finance function. This position requires the ability to work under your own initiative on complex project and enhancement deliverables. You will be part of a development team and will be supported by other developers, domain experts and technical subject matter experts. You are expected to coordinate with other groups such as architecture, data governance, infrastructure and other development teams.

What will you do in this role?

The software engineer is expected to demonstrate disciplined development practices and ensure the application of strong functional configuration and coding standards. They will be involved in investigating, architecting, designing and implementing new solutions and/or adding new features and functions to existing solutions, based on business needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with finance teams to understand business requirements.

  • Develop and customize Tagetik applications including workflows, ETL processes, and data mappings.

  • Translate business needs into technical and functional solutions using Tagetik.

  • Build and maintain SQL queries to support Tagetik reports for both Web and Excel.

  • Configure financial models, Solvency II, forecasting, and consolidation modules.

  • Manage data integration between Tagetik and other systems.

  • Perform unit testing and L3 production support, including root cause analysis and bug fixes.

  • Maintain and enhance existing Tagetik environments and jobs.

  • Create technical documentation (design specs, migration docs).

What you need to have:
 

The preferred candidate will have:
 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience in at least 2 Tagetik implementations.

  • Proficiency in Tagetik development and configuration.

  • Experience with:

o Analytical Information Hub (AIH), JBOSS, Control-M (nice to have).
o Building Tagetik processes & workflows
o Tagetik Dimension and data processing

  • Knowledge of ETL (Extract-Transform-Load)/ELT, working with large data sets with expertise in data-mapping, validation, and data cleansing techniques.

  • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) is a plus

  • Experience in Data Modelling, Data Warehousing, PL/SQL

  • Strong experience with Microsoft development and tooling stacks (MS SQL, Visual Studio, DevOps or equivalent).

What we prefer you to have:

  • Knowledge of financial processes and consolidation

  • Knowledge of Tagetik User Rights functionality

  • Working knowledge of Tagetik Data Loader

  • Knowledge of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture

  • Experience with Agile methodologies including SCRUM

  • The ability to collaborate effectively and communicate transparently

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Role Factors:

In this role, you will typically be required to be in the office 2 to 3 days per week.
