The Opportunity:

As a CACI SOF Data Scientist/Database Manager you will get to designs, optimize, and manage data environments supporting Digital‑ISR workflows. You will develop, implement and maintain comprehensive security plans, polices, regulations, procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure adherence to Information Assurance (IA) regulatory requirements. You will work closely with developers to containerize databases, enrichment processes, and analytics for modular deployment. Implements automation pipelines, models, and scalable query logic to support dynamic operational needs. Oversee schema governance, indexing strategies, and system tuning to ensure data services are performant and mission ready.

Responsibilities:

The Data Scientist will be a key member of the SOCAFRICA Digital ISR team, responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of advanced analytical capabilities to support intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) operations across the African Theater. Produces system enhancements and analytic workflows that align with SOCAFRCIA requirements and PIRs across mission environments. This position requires a strong analytical background, proficiency in data science techniques, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable intelligence for tactical and strategic decision-makers. The Data Scientist will work closely with intelligence analysts, operations personnel, and other technical experts to identify data-driven solutions to challenging problems.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current Top Secret SCI (Specialized Compartmented Information Security) clearance. 
  • Master’s Degree and 3+ years and or Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of experience in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree preferred. or 10+ years of Data Science work with a focus on applying data science techniques to real-world problems. 
  • Experience supporting DoD or IC customers strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong understanding of statistical modeling techniques.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) a plus.
  • Experience with geospatial data analysis tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) a plus.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Desired:

  • Experience working with ISR data.
  • Familiarity with military intelligence processes and terminology.
  • Knowledge of the African Theater and associated geopolitical challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$90,300 - 189,600 USD
